Just Beat GTA: IV

Yeah I know, I'm really late. The ending where Roman dies was sad, haven't gotten the other ending yet but I know Kate dies.

 

Now I know one of them is an alternate ending, but which one?

 

I would think the one where Niko kills Demitri and gets revenge would be the actual ending since that is what Niko wanted to actually do. The one where Niko makes a deal and instead Roman dies I would think is the alternate ending, but I'm not exactly sure.

 

I plan to get 100% then start over so in the next save Roman isn't dead.

 

Again, the ending was sad, which I didn't expect in a GTA game. Please, don't spoil The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony for me, I have yet to play those two episodes yet.

 

EDIT: As a matter of fact, I saved before you have the choice to make a deal or get revenge, so now I can do it over again, and instead have a 100% save file where Roman is alive.

 

EDIT 2: Just got the other ending, definetly looks like what the actual ending should be. Just think I need a second opinion.

fyi this didn't need to be a poll. and there really is no alternate or actual ending. both could be canon, it was just a choice and IV's ending doesn't affect the other IV era story lines. that being said i ended both

I think the Deal ending is non-canon...It just doesn't feel like something Niko would do. Niko is always looking for revenge.

True, in fact the main reason he went to Liberty city in the first place was to get revenge, remember?

After what Dimitri did to Niko and Roman I don't think Niko would ever work for him again and so would have definitely got revenge.

Yeah, you can infer that Niko wanted revenge on him, but as always the player has the choice.
