guitar414
I tried downloading a saved game file, copied it to C:\Users\Johnny5\Documents\GTA Vice City User Files. I tried to start the game from the saved file and it started from the very beginning. I then did an uninstall and a clean install and I'm still getting the same problem. Is there something I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated. YeTi
Probably a dodgy save file, where did you get the file from? It's possible the save file isn't what it's advertised as. radioman
First, are you sure this is a VC problem and not a SA one? I ask cause usually SA is the only one that has that problem-and that's only when a V1 save is used on a V2 game. If this is a VC issue, do you have the Retail (CD) version or the Steam/D2D version? Cause the Steam/d2d versions are not compatible with the Retail game saves. guitar414
I downloaded the save game file from http://gtasnp.com/download/16141. I purchased the game from Direct2drive. radioman
I downloaded the save game file from http://gtasnp.com/download/16141. I purchased the game from Direct2drive. That's why, the saves on this site are from the Retail(CD) version and the Retail versions are not compatible with the Download versions of the game, as the Download versions are 1.1 and the CD versions are 1.0. So, that is why the save(s) you downloaded are not working. radioman
I downloaded the save game file from http://gtasnp.com/download/16141. I purchased the game from Direct2drive. As of right now, unfortunately, no there is no work around for save compatibilty between the Retail and Steam/D2D saves. So, the only Save N Play workaround for the players with Steam and D2D Download games is Demerest's Code Tools located here, and hopefully one day Samutz will be able to create a save converter like he did for SA's V1/V2 compatibilty problem.? Demersts' code tools do work on the Downloaded versions, however, so if you are having trouble with a mission(s), those will help you out a lot. Just a heads up/Hope this helps.
