"Enter" key isn't responding in game

Hey all. I just purchased GTA IV with all of the expansions on steam during the holiday sale, and I'm having one huge problem.

On any prompt, trying to answer the phone, etc. my "enter" key won't respond. It works absolutely fine outside of the game, and every other key has worked in game. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this before, and happens to know how to fix it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've also had some issues with binding the enter key (specifically related to buying cloths and in the taxi). I was able to fix this by making sure I didn't map any keys to the enter key. Unfortunately Rockstar doesn't let you re-map some of the hidden keys in the game.

Have you checked your custom mapping? Perhaps, you haven't bound the 'Enter' key to any of the actions that you wish to perform with it.

If you're using mods, some modification are known to cause this. If in doubt, you should delete the controlmap.dat file from the savegames folder.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I'm not running a mod, and all of my keybinds are defaults. I'll still go through them and see if my enter key is in fact bound to something else.

Thanks again,

EDIT: Just tried re-binding, and even there the game won't recognize me hitting my "enter" key. This issue happens everywhere; exit prompts, answering my phone, etc. Maybe I should try a reinstall??

Try this first before you reinstall.

Can't seem to find this file anywhere... I tried doing a search in my GTAIV folder, no luck. Guess I'm due for a reinstall?

It's not in the game folder, it's in the savegame folder.

Yes, and the savegames folder is inside the GTAIV folder, therefore, it would have been found in a search. Thank you anyway, though.
