play4funnow
Hi, I've just bought the gold edition of GTA4 which include all the GTA4 titles :-) I need your help because the game lag very much and as you can see bellow, my computer should easily support the game. I've already tried the "-memrestrict" solution. It doesn't change anything. Please consider these points : *All my drivers are updated *I've installed the latest patch for GTA4 In addition, I've a good new for you, I've already found a way to play correctly but as you will see, it's not possible to use this solution to play during hours ;-) When I record the screen (with sound) with fraps, the game lag no more ! When I stop to record the game, it restarts to lag (slow-fast-slow-fast). Please do not tell me to set down the graphics details because I've already tried this and the game still lag the same (or I must play in 800*600 with ALL settings in the minimum). You can check this on this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9viQ6EvmnWc In my opinion, the origin of the problem comes from the processor. Let me know what I could do to enjoy my 3 games and do not hesitate to ask me more details if you need ;-) If I find the solution, I'll post it in the comment. A big thanks for the time you will take to help me :-) ---------------------------- System Information ---------------------------- Operating System: Windows 7 Professionnel 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 8152MB RAM Page File: 2481MB used, 13818MB available ------------------------ DISPAY DEVICES ------------------------ Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5570 Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. yoječ
Your graphics card is severely bottlenecking your PC. Radeon 5570 was designed for office computers, not for gaming. mkey82
This only serves as a measure, nothing too accurate, a ballpark figure. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html Radeon HD 4870 1,742 <------- my card which runs GTAIV OK, not great Radeon HD 5570 761 <------- your card That's 2.3x difference in synthetic benchmark score, quite a lot. play4funnow
Thank you very much for your answers. But can you explain me why the game lag no more when I record with fraps ? And even if I play in 1024*768, the game lag exactly the same. An Average Username
And when I watch a this vide, I think that the problem is not the graphic card : And one more : He renderred the video in the replay editor. You can export it even if you have a geforce 8200 and it'd come out looking smooth. The matter of fact is that it's not, whatsoever. BLKMAG
And when I watch a this vide, I think that the problem is not the graphic card : And one more : Do not believe these YouTube videos, theres millions of videos of people claiming to run games maxed out with poor hardware. My 5770 (2 levels above your card) runs the game "acceptably". You cannot play with a 5570, if you want good graphics and a decent framerate.
