nvidia31337
HELLO! Graphic Mod[EXTREME GFX IV] I have been in the process of creating a graphic mod for the past 2-3 months by editing the timecyc.dat i have posted several videos of the mod on youtube and i have been told several times to post the mod onto sites and to start a page on gtaforum.com and such but i want to wait until the mod was finished. but i started a gtaforum.com page! The goals of this graphic mod is to provide the user with visually stunning graphics, with stronger reflections, darker shadows, and just overall beautiful to look at! and the graphic mod does all of this without the very glitchy and laggy enb with the red sky and annoying fps drop however i will also appreciate if someone could make an enb configuration that would work perfectly with my mod i need people to help me make the mod more visually stunning and i need people to give me tips along the way! i would really appreciate everyone who puts the time into helping me with this mod lastly if their is anyone who wants to become a partner in this graphic mod that would be extremely great however i am not guaranteeing if anyone can become my partner also the graphic mod is about 60-65% done but it will be a work in process for a while as i want it to be beyond perfect (OCD is very annoying!!!!) when i release it to sites like gta4-mods.com, gtagarage.com, and gtainside.com VIDEOS: ---------------------------- So here is what i want: 1) someone to work with me on this mod as a partner! (credit will be given everywhere) 2) tweaks for the mod that will make it look better (credit will be given in the readme) 3) and anything you find interesting that you know about editing a timecyc.dat (credit will be given in the readme) 4) and any other files i could edit for a better graphic mod(something other than timecyc.dat) (credit will be given in the readme) 5) Testing the mod and telling me any bugs (credit will be given in the readme) 6) an enb configuration that would work perfectly with my mod 7) or simply to tell me what you think of the mod!!!!!!! Thanks for everyone's help so here is the GRAPHICS MOD ---------------------------- GRAPHICS MOD DL LINK Link 2 ----- PICS ----- ---------------------------- HELP (from most to least) ---------------------------- 1) DKT70-For help all throughout the way! Very helpful and great modder! 2)Kottonschopshop-Support and help 3) Boxmonster-Help w/ timecyc 4) City_Poke-Telling me reflections are too much Please give credit where it is deserved! -Joseph Jacob THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!! DKT70
I see a lot of problems, but I know your learning as you go along, so don't worry about them. Don't also worry about the stupid comment by city_whatisface, he never has anything good to say about anyone's mod besides his own piss-poor visual rubbish. If you need some help let me know here, although I don't give away many secrets, as you know One thing, turn off lighting on cloudy weather, so no shadows. DKT70 thanks for your help! really appreciate it we need more modders like you! and i really appreciate your help and i am glad you will continue to help me! o btw how do you turn off lighting for cloudy weather and is it ok if i keep lightning for like the morning b/c i like the sun comming from the clouds looks great in my opinion thanks again! o btw: The most edited and best looking weathers are extrasunny, sunny, cloudy, rainy, and lightning. cloudy nights, foggy, sunnywindy, and extrasunny2 are still works in progress-probably the problems that you see they are merely edited by me to see what the values affect i really havent adjusted them to my liking! however i will continue to work on every weather until the mod is 100 percent complete and perfect (OCD SUCKS!) DKT70
It depends on how you want cloudy weather, if you want the sun behind the clouds then there shouldn't be any shadows since there is no direct sunlight, so change "Direct Color" multiplier to 0 or 0.1, if you want a very weak shadow try 0.5 or 1.0. Also, careful with really high sky values in "Additional Sky Options", too high and the sky is too powerful and reflects on everything especially cars, making cars and objects almost blue. I would also, although this is more a personal thing, keep your decimal points proper, no values like .7 or .1, use 0.700 or 0.70 because the extra decimal point can make a huge difference especially in the Visual Effects tab where many settings are only 0.00 decimal, not 0.000 Careful with "Global Reflection" values because without ENB the stock game treats all reflective objects the same, so a value of 1.000 will affect cars, roads, windows, so keep that as low as you can get away with. nvidia31337
I was about to give you some tips but I've realized you included my 6 AM weather for Extrasunny from my mod. Not cool . wtf? are you serious? this timecyc.dat is created from scratch from the eflc timecyc.dat probably the only bad thing that i did was the fact that this scratch timecyc.dat was from a pirated eflc (i now own a legit copy of gta eflc thanks to my birthday money!) so for you to accuse me of copying from your timecyc.dat is ridiculous and i am not content until i can figure out what your timecyc.dat is? the only timecyc.dat i have used are sapphire graphic iv, visual iv, and reality iv visual iv is by city_poke... reality iv is by dkt70 sapphire graphic is by lexluthor... so since box... is not the creator of any of these i have no f*cking clue wtf you are talking about sorry and dude please check again to see if we have the same things also i might have the same things as you because i used the default gta iv and changed values so you might have looked at values that were left unchanged by both of us?!? boxmonster
Okay, now since that fiasco is behind I'll say what I was going to say: Make sure these pairs have the same values (Edit IV names them incorrectly): red: sprite Size Red Sky (so Add Red Sky is the true red value for the top of the sky) green: Ambient Occlusion Scaler Particle HDR blue: Refl from Water Global Multiplier each of these values control the bottom of the sky's colors, one for east, one for west (I forget which sides they control though). It looks best if the pairs are equal to each other or you'll get an band across one side of the horizon instead of smooth fog. I might tell you more later. I still feel like an ass. DKT70
Yep, Sprite Size and Red Sky (not Add Red Sky) should always be the same, they're poorly named to be honest. Ambient Occlusion Scaler and Particle HDR the same, and Global Multiplier and Refl from water the same, sometimes even the same as the previous 2. Also, there are no color values for these, you have to think of not only a vertical color chart from Green to Blue, but also color blending. All colors blend with Red Sky, so you have to know your color values and how say, for example, green blends with a blue sky and a red bottom sky. This is what you cannot (yet) do in ENB, because it ignores these, sadly. As for my job, I'm a Computer Technician, Cisco Trained, and the old MS CLAIT trained to level 3, although I only use this now for private office training. I'm also a musician, a poor one, I was in a 90's Amiga demo group Antiriex under the name Nate. boxmonster
I'm giving you what the RGB values for the bottom of the sky are. What Edit IV calls them is not what they actually do. There are two for each because one is for the east side of the sky and the other is for the west. It was pretty confusing for me to figure out too. Edit: DKT beat me to the punch.
