More casting news.

More casting news from Variety. This time the trade’s Jeff Sneider reports that Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis have joined the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. According to Variety, Cullen will play a judge and Ellis will play a priest.

I read it to simply mean that the real-life places are unrecognisable. So that people don't just go 'oh this is just set in Chicago' or something.

That's what I get from reading it as well.

It would ruin the vibe if you're watching a Gotham scene and then you'd go like "Hey I live in that building over there!".

Some more filming location news.

Earlier this week we learned that Christopher Nolan would be shooting The Dark Knight Rises in Glasgow, Scotland, and now we know of another location in Scotland that will be part of the shoot. According to Highland News, The Dark Knight Rises will shoot at the Inverness Airport in the next few weeks.

Bosses at the airport were remaining tightlipped about the deal and would not confirm who the contract is with and which movie will be getting filmed.

Inglis Lyon, managing director of Highlands and Islands Airport Limited, told the Highland News: “I can confirm we have entered into a contract with a film production company. It’s a relatively short contract which will earn the airport some money. I cannot say anymore than that.”

But a film industry insider told the Highland News: “It’s certain that some scenes from the new Batman movie are getting shot at Inverness Airport. I believe it will be next month.

“I am not sure if any of the stars will be there, but I believe they are using the airport to shoot various aerial scenes. It is very exciting and great news for the area.”

Wollaton Hall to be exterior Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, with Osterley Park House serving as interior shots of Wayne's mansion.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that the Osterley Park House would be used as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises. Many rooms of the house will be closed to the public later this month, to accommodate interior shoots for The Dark Knight Rises. Now, thanks to My Nottingham, we know of another mansion that Christopher Nolan will be using as Wayne Manor. According to the site, Wollaton Hall and Park will be closed to the public from June 20th until July 6th, in order to enable “a film to have exclusive access to the site for filming”. Wollaton Hall looks very similar to Mentmore Towers, which was used as Wayne Manor in Batman Begins. I’m sure with a bit of Hollywood magic, Wollaton Hall will look just like Wayne Manor from Batman Begins… brick-for-brick.

Update: cwilliamson32 points out in the comments that Mentmore Towers was designed off Wollaton Hall, which is why the two buildings look so similar.

Some more casting news. Nothing huge, but thought I'd post this as it is news.

Production on The Dark Knight Rises is already well underway, but Nolan is still adding a few more people to the cast. Variety just broke the news that Josh Stewart (The Collector) is the newest addition to The Dark Knight Rises. Unfortunately his role is unknown at this point.

Also, Anne Hathaway injured a stuntman by pistol whipping the sh*t out of his face, and has ruined a bunch of catwoman outfits during shooting of the intense fight scenes. Sounds great.

When did TDK's first teaser come out? I'm going to see Green Lantern at midnight and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The first teaser trailer for The Dark Knight came out in summer '07, when it was released on July 18th, 2008. The teaser for The Dark Knight Rises is reportedly going to be shown before screenings of the new Harry Potter. Plus, Green Lantern is a Marvel comic, Batman a DC comic. I don't think I've ever seen a trailer for a DC comic movie at a Marvel movie.

As for the potentially major spoiler, I never thought I'd see that name involved with this flick.

Green Lantern is DC. Twas why I was curious. smile.gif

Oops. Maybe there will be a teaser before it, but I doubt it though. I'm betting Harry Potter will have the teasers.

That means I have seen DC trailers at viewings of a Marvel flick (saw the Green Lantern trailer when I went to see Thor). My mistake, never was big on Green Lantern.

Hahah, that made me laugh.

But i see what you mean, Batman is set in it's own universe sort of thing, and it when you watch the movie it makes you believe that it is actually happening.

What are those guys saying ? Sounds like Bane Bane Matalo Matalo

[/snip]

Could be, but at the end I can clearly make out "He's your father". It's a very interesting bit of audio (perhaps even an early composition of Bane's theme music) that they gave us. Makes me hope that the music in this will be even more thunderous than TDK's score was.

Some "details" on Catwoman's outfit:

“Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies,” a source very close to the costume design tells us exclusively. “She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber.”

Adds the insider, “But fan boys shouldn’t be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot.”

TEASER TRAILER AND POSTER REPORTEDLY COMING NEXT WEEK with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pt. 2.

We’ve been hearing this rumor for a while, but now Superhero Hype has received word from a reliable source that The Dark Knight Rises’ teaser trailer will debut next Friday, July 15th, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. According to the source, the teaser trailer has a runtime of 1 minute and 33 seconds and a poster will be on display as well. If this is all true, Warner Bros. will likely release the teaser trailer online sometime next week in all it’s HD glory.

Seeing as it'll be 1 minute/33 seconds long (TDK's teaser was 55 seconds), we'll no doubt get some footage from the film.

Here are the teaser trailers for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
