visionist
I couldn't resist testing it before my new TV arrives; well the Bluray doesn't look as impressive as The Dark Knight's did. That's probably just because the film's cinematography is generally less beautiful or even interesting. The entire Joker truck scene in TDK looks stunning with it's gorgeous interplay of deep shadows and amber lights. There's little that striking here. Or maybe we're too used to such high quality. Bring on 4K! Neither Blu obviously has even 1% of the impact the films did in fullscreen 15/70mm.
Rebel
I have to say I enjoyed this way more on my Blu Ray player (with blu ray disc) rather than sitting watching it at the cinema - probably because I didn't go see it at an IMAX but they are a tad too far/expensive. I kind of wish they had made it all again in 3D so I could watch that at home.
Waddy
I watched it on DVD at the weekend and to be honest I didnt think it was a patch on the previous film, it was okay, but for me it wasnt great. The effects were great and the action was good but in some parts I was a little bored with it.

It was made pretty clear that this was going to be a trilogy and Rises was definitely the end. Also, I don't even think Robin would have been in the movie if they had gotten to do the original plot of Joker being in jail and Harvey running wild in Gotham. Ledger's death changed a lot of things.
Nicole
why does everyone hate the title so much? lol
wise_man
Dark Knight Rises is such a good way to end Nolan's trilogy. But few things really bothers me, like the war sequence near the end (the polices just run forward straight away into armed criminals) or how Bruce returns to Gotham so quickly. TwistOfLime21
After The Dark Knight, it was always going to be an uphill battle with the sequel. Tom Hardy done an awesome job as Bane. The size difference between comic book Bane and movie Bane was never an issue to me. It was more the little things that annoyed me, like the constant use of “hothead”. The awful first fight between Bane and Batman too. He’s getting his ass handed to him and he uses those pathetic little smoke bombs? I’m all for suspending my disbelief in movies but while Gotham is being held hostage and waiting for Batman to make his return and save them, he’s busy covering the bridge in petrol in the shape of a bat? Come on. Edited November 19, 2020 by TwistOfLime21
