very sh*tty port

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I have lots of problems with my EFLC copy and i have no mods. Its been pulling my hair out lately. suicidal.gif

The biggest and only problem I have is startup. Here's a normal GTA EFLC startup for me. first startup, hmmm Secucrash has stopped working. Wow, next startup another one pops up! I think I hold the record for most Secucrash has stopped working error in a row. My record is 30. Then RGSC startup. Sometimes login fails. One thing to say, failure. Then I finally startup the game! icon14.gif But, first screen of copyright crap, EFLC has stopped working. Wtf?! icon13.gif Then the whole process repeats again for the next 10 minutes. Yes, it takes me 10 minutes to startup the damn game without errors! Im really starting to hate EFLC just because of the startup hassle. Oh I forgot to mention that sometimes it crashes on gameplay. Guess time to return to good old San Andreas without errors!

While GTA:IV and EFLC have many problems which can be attributed to the quality of the porting process the symptoms you describe are atypical. I can't speak for absolutely everyone, but I have no problems with Securom, RGSC and starting EFLC in general.

The usual "bad port issues" are poor performance, being too resource hungry and pop-in which seems to be impossible to completely eliminate.

You come across as upset and angry which is understandable. While I sympathise with you, I have to say that your issues sound as though they are more to do with your setup than with EFLC itself.

In order for the guys here to help, you will need to do the following:

First a small point of forum etiquette; these issues should be posted in the GTA:IV >> Troubleshooting Forum. This forum is to do with Performance problems. Outright failures and crashes go in Troubleshooting.

Second, you will need to provide the following:

Please include the following information when describing your issue:

    * Where exactly in the game you experienced the issue (start screen, while playing the game, etc.)

    * What version of the game you have (retail, steam, other online store)

    * What is your OS

    * Benchmark info or DxDiag is also helpful

I wish you well in finding solutions.

Peace.

I sort of fixed it by removing ENB. Still crashes on startup, but not too often. Also removed xliveless. to startup the game takes 2 min now. Its still long though. San Andreas only took me a second to start it up. I'm just wondering why it crashes after the copyright screen. I'm assuming it has got to do with GFWL not starting before it. Cuz GFWL was loaded before second copyright screen, then it continued on to main menu. thanks for your help guys!
