Strange Gta IV Shadow Lag?

well, i just got gta iv and when im playing its all fluid and cool but after like 30 or 40 seconds it starts with a f***** annoying lag that isnt like the normal ones, its like it stops for half a second then goes, then it goes more frequent and then its unplayable

i notticed that it doesnt happend when i disable the shadows, the fact is that when im with the shadows it looks great and fast for the 30- 40 seconds, i dont think its a gear problem

i have 4 gb of ram

ati radeon hd 5830 1 gb

phenom II x6 3.0

and im using windows xp 32 at this momment (servi pack 3)

what could it be?

Are you facing stuttering?

Try the -memrestrict command as suggested in the pinned topic.
