In GTA 4 you could not play any real sports at all. I understand you couldn't really do it in the other games, but there are perfectly good basketball courts and pools. I know there were motorcycle parks in 4 but there was no real fun to it.

 

I wish you could have races for swimming, and play basketball or soccer with your friends.

The best answer here would be why not?

 

Basketball was Ok in SA, and while I don't remember if you could play 2 player basketball, I don't see why it couldn't come back. Playing a game of 21 with Jacob, anyone?

 

Also other sports would be good too, maybe a soccer shootout game where one player plays the goalie and the other tries to score.

I'm not a big fan of sports really, but yeah, it could really suit the character, maybe a gym as well. But does anyone actually like the idea of golf like in TBOGT?

Why just athletic sports? Why not motor sports? I'd like to see stadium racing and demolition derbies return along with the stunt show. And why not air racing as well? I mean, that's also a sport.

Definitely, as far as I know gta SA was the only gta which included athletic sports like basketball. There was a tennis court there in-between market an richman which IMO should have been used as an interactive sport. Tbogt did have cage fighting championships though. There are a lot of things you saw in gta but couldn't do, sporting especially, it just makes the game feel lifeless and unreal so I'd definitely like sports such as tennis, basketball ect.

Eh, I'd rather see it be something like boxing or MMA, or maybe just back-alley streetfighting in the Kimbo Slice sense. Hand-to-hand combat is something I'd like to see improved, and I expect it as SA was a big step ahead of Vice and III in that department.

 

Sports like basketball or soccer just don't really fit into GTA that well IMO, at least from a player's standpoint. Now, suppose there was a baseball stadium like in SA's Las Venturas (which was actually a pretty good representation of the real-life Cashman Stadium in Las Vegas), then I wouldn't mind it where you could go watch a ballgame as a friend activity or maybe something ties in with a storyline - suppose the protagonist takes a job as a bodyguard for a famous and/or controversial athlete. Then it would serve more of a purpose and not just be a big, empty park wasting space like that stadium in Venturas. Venturas had a whole lot of wasted space now that I think of it.

I have to side with Mainland Marauder. Focus on hand-to-hand combat. The fighting championship in TBOGT was brilliant, improving upon that would be cool.

 

Gyms should make a return as well. Really, GTA: San Andreas was the greatest game in terms of gameplay

* Racket sports, like tennis, table tennis, squash and badminton

 

* Hand to hand combat sports, like martial arts, boxing and wrestling.

 

* Shooting challenges from SA and Trap-shooting and archery.

 

* Triathon.

 

* Athletics, like running, jumping and throwing javelin.

 

* Watersports, like swimming, diving, surfing, waterski jumping, sailing.

 

* Motorsports on a track, like car racing, motorcycle racing, motoX, FS motoX, boat racing, jetski racing and airplane racing.

 

* Basketball one-on-one

Yes, obviously races should be included, but they don't really fit in this category. Races have been a part of GTA since VC, and for them not to be in the next GTA would be stupid.

Its status as sport is debatable at best, but whatever you want to call it, it was fun in RDR and they actually put a little work into it, e.g. some players tended to play a little smarter, more aggressive or more conservative. You heard Roman talk about all the money he blew in underground poker games, so it might stand to reason you could play to win (or lose) some cash.

 

Anything that makes money more relevant is good in my book. Money has a way of being or becoming meaningless in GTA, especially later on in the game.

Perhaps not a sport, but a game. And it sure worked in Red Dead Redemption! I hope Rockstar North dares approaching Rockstar San Diego. The card games in RDR worked very well, there is almost no need to change them

hey man triathlon was in SA and it worked out that sh*t was pretty fun imo, and its not like it was even part of the 100% completion

Most of you are overthinking this IMHO.

 

What I'd like to see however:

 

 

Triathlon from SA making a comeback.

BMX parks (ability to perform standard tricks. No need to have a competition though)

Demo Derbies from III era.

Ring Racing from III era.

Basketball from SA.

Organized illegal street drag racing (tie this into the story in a couple of missions, or for a specific person, but not like Brucie's stupid assed "No. 1 mission" in IV)

Bowling, Air Hockey, Golf, and Cage Fighting from IV era should make a comeback.

 

That's really all I'd like to see, without overdoing it with options like soccer and baseball which would totally push it a bit too far.

It's funny that you say that since SA had triathlons and TBOGT had marathons, and most of the other events he listed have already been included in one game in one way or another, so maybe you should check your facts before you open your mouth.

I thought the mini games in IV were pretty fun, and also well done. However, I'd like the ability to purchase these games for my safehouse, assuming there is adequate room for them.

 

- Add Foosball.

- Poker in rdr is ace, include it.

 

Casinos are sorely missed from SA. Of all the mini-games/sports, I hope casinos will be included first and foremost.

 

For sports, I think having a few wouldn't be overboard. Basketball, Golf, and maybe soccer (perhaps just a juggling game for it) would be welcomed in my opinion. And not just a driving range for golf, but at least a 9-hole course. It'd be awesome to sneak up on some guys who are finishing a round and mow them down with an AK-47 while they're putting.

 

Triathlons and Marathons? Hell yeah.

Heck if they just included updated versions of previous sports from all games i would be happy with that.

I don't know why R* refuses to include stadiums in GTA. LC felt incomplete without any baseball stadiums. There should at least be one or two stadiums in the city, even if they're never even used.
