hi, my first time installing this mod and i have a few questions:
1. menus are broken, can i fix this somehow...?
2. how do i save my game? 

edit: nvm the second question, apparently i have to get close to the bed from the save-house in order to save

Wrong, modloader does work, maybe you have it installed incorrectly.

What kind of broken exactly are you talking about? I don't see anything wrong with the menu here, can you show me a screenshot? 

Hi guys, I tried completing silent assassin 2 and every time I reach the car it's in a wrong color so I need to respray it until the game recognises it as the right one and when I go in the bombshop icon for it doesn't dissapear and icon to go back to the garage doesn't appear. I tried getting back to the garage anyway but I fail the mission after the timer runs out. Anyone knows how to fix this any help would be appreciated.

When you reach the car, it'll always say it's in wrong color but it actually isn't.. So don't listen to it and continue on with the mission, trust me it works

It's early 2002s. After the death of Don Salvatore Leone, Tony Cipriani took the leadership over the familly as the traditions say that a new don is ellected from the capos. And Tony was the most experienced of them all. But this soon had to be changed as Joey Leone had to become the new don on behalf of Salvatore's last will. But there were two conditions. 1 - Joey had to create a familly. So he married Misty. 2 - Joey had to make a big deal which would bring profit to the familly. But then Tony betrays Joey and sends him to death. Joey survives. He's on the run now, cannot return home, cannot trust enyone. Only one thing is on his mind now. Revenge...

NEW SCRIPT. This includes:

87 new missions that consit of:
71 totally new story missions (including 18 property missions)
16 new side missions
6 buyable properties
20 old + 10 new unique jumps
20 old + 10 new rampages
100 hidden packages in new locations
new weapon, health and armor locations
NEW collectables: 12 bodycasts, 50 bonuses, 10 mystery boxes and 5 terrorists
some other minor stuff

I tried to make a story driven game. Missions are not demanding, quite fun. I also made this new feature called Additional Mission Objectives (AMO). During some missions a text box with AMO will appear. It will give you an additional objective that you don't have to achieve, but if you do you will get more money for completing the mission. Those are ussually simple like loose cops, make it in time, kill everyone and so on.

Map changes include:

Parts from GTA 3 DE

New textures (cars, winter duh...)

New sounds
New radio stations

OK, about skippin the CS:
1. You can only skip the mission start cutscenes by HOLDING enter/exit vehicle button (which is usually enter/return).
2. You cannot skip any other cutscenes (like those accuring in the middle or end of the mission)
3. The game intro cutscene cannot be skipped until the Joey monologue part.

Also if the default language appears lithuanian and you having troubles changing it go Nustatymai>>Kalba>>Anglu

5. Get an img editor, use it to open gta3.img file (MODELS folder) and add csitecutscene.dff to gta3.img

 

2. Patch2 fixes these bugs:

Missing building collision in Chinatown

Fixing the unfinished sewer in Hepburn Heights

Lifted some buildings in Hepburn Heights a bit so they do not block the underground sewer passage

Fixed missing car paths on some roads

Removed some ped paths so the peds do not ramdomly drop in to the sewers

Made some text fixes including Toni mentioning the area where the player must go in "Booby Trap"

How to install:

1. Download patch2

2. Replace american.gxt in TEXT folder

3. Replace generic.ide in data/maps folder

4. Replace all the remaining files ther respective folders in data/maps/...

 

There should be now bugs, but make copies of these files before replacing them. Just in case

 

3. Mission patch alters some missions and general stuff in main.scm:

Increases the time limit in Head Radio mission "Seize the Word"

Allows a little bit lower speed in mission "Booby Trap"

Decreases the distance the Yardie Boss Walks in mission "Tail"

Makes Micky run arround the factory a bit and not just stand in one place in mission "Two Kings in Little Italy"

Adds some more info about Ammunation in mission "Dealing With"

Makes weapons appear in stock at Ammunation gradually rather them being available from the beginning of the game (all weapons appear in stock after passing half of Wu Long and Xian Long missions)

Increased the duration of dialog texts a bit.

Added extra health for Micky in "In the Shadow of Don"

Moved the truck to another location in "No Dry Run"

Added "Detonation" bar in "Booby Trap"

Fixed auto 'mission failed' bug after failing "One Bullet" once

Slightly decresed the number of mafia enemies in "Inner Circle Mash"

Gave some colombians uzis instead of ak47 in mission "In the Construction"

Made that the fares would appear much closer to the player in a taxi mission, but slightly decreased given timer reward after completing the fare

Slightly increased the health of Toni and Leo in the last two game missions.

How to install:

1. Download mission patch

2. Replace Main.scm in data folder.

 

Warning. Replacing main.scm makes your save files not work. You will have to start new game, so think carefully weather you need it That's how it works.

 

To make the players socialy active, I have an achievement game for you. Try to get these achievements while playing the game, post a picture(s) proving it and you will get some cookies and likes

Try not to ruin the fun for others so post the picture in SPOILER caps. And don't try to cheat by copying pics, that are already posted by others. I will know.

Achievements:

1. Business Man
- Complete all asset missions

After completing all missions of every porperty, you get briefcase of money time from time.
Post a picture(s) of every money briefcase of every asset. There has to be 7 of them.

Reward: cookie and like

2. Don Leone
- Complete the storyline

Complete all story missions.
Post a picture of big 'THE END' on the screen at the end of the last story mission.

Reward: cookie and like

3. 100-percenter
- Complete the 100% of the game

Complete all story missions, side missions and collectables.
Post a picture of status screen showing 100 percent or a picture of text pager congratulating on 100% completion.

Reward: 3 cookies and like

4. Joey Freeman
- Find a mysterious Gman wathcing you

A mysterious fugure, only known as Gman, appears time from time. He watches as Joey tries to complete his journey.
Post a picture of Gman, watching you. It's not so easy to spot him and he only appears briefly 8 times during various missions. Each time catching him deserves the achievement reward.

Reward: 2 cookies and like

5. Paranormal Hunter
- Find a paranormal being

Urban legends say that strange paranormal beings such as ghosts and monsters hide in Liberty City.
Post a picture of encauntering such paranormal being. There are 5 beings hiding and you can encaunter them only once. Each encaunter deserves the achievement reward.

Reward: 2 cookies and like

What's so wrong about downloading the installer? Just download it, run the installer and install the mod, easy peasy dude.. If anti virus stops you, just turn it off

Saving the game while having the Yakuza guys will corrupt your save game.. Soo sorry to say, you have lost your save game

Another tip(If Needed): You must save your game after completing every Diablo missions, because if you load the save file the one where the DIablo missions isn't passed yet, starting their missions won't activate, the mission marker and the icon on the map still displays it but the mission can't start - making the game unplayable, It happened to my gameplay once for completing another 100% which sucks so I share this so no one can get any problems like mine.

Core tip: Always save game after passing a mission.

Yeah I managed to find file that has similar stats as mine but yesterday lost that one too, it seems that saving 2 times in a row in staunton safehouse and then reloading corrupts the file too.

If you're using the main.scm from the mission patch, then it won't work with a savegame that uses the old main.scm

May I Convert this Map to UE5? 

 

I just finished the Original GTA III Conversion and have Uploaded it to YouTube. 

 

By the way, where can i find the DFFs and there Location/Rotation when they are not inside the IPL? 

For Example Joeys Garage Door, Savehouse Door in Portland or the Open Door of Shoreside Savehouse. 

I see that you have changed the Rotation and the Mesh itself in Shoreside. 

Is this only inside the scripts or somewhere else?

I finally finished the story!

 

I wanted to love this mod so much. There's an absolutely outstanding work on the map, the models and especially the scripts. Everything is done in such a good taste, snowy Liberty City is a delight to cruise around and the amount of bugs I encountered was unbelievably low.

 

But unfortunately, the dominating feeling while playing "Frosted Winter" is not an awe of modding team's brilliant work, but rather frustration. It's funny how they nailed the hardest part (mapping, modelling and coding), but absolutely botched the simplest ones, which are mission design and story.

 

Missions are not challenging, they simply tedious and designed in such way that you have to fail them the first time. Most of them are just driving slow vehicles through ice and snow while being chased by the police. Some of them are just hordes of enemies teleported next to you. And some of them are just purely sadistic: like driving a van through Mafia territory or driving the most uncontrollable vehicle on a full speed on the ice. Why were these missions created in the first place? Why made the effort of coding them? It would cost you $0 to not create them and the mod would be all the better for it.

 

Every GTA player cursed Rockstar for creating missions with tight timers that are simply not fun, and yet when players decided to make their own game they're making timers even tighter and missions even less fun. That's baffling.

 

There is also a weird decision of blowing up a bridge between Portland and Staunton for absolutely no reason. It made sense in original game, because player wasn't suppose to be on Staunton then. But in the mod you constantly have to travel between two islands, why would you destroy the bridge between them? Such a braindead decision, why it was made in the first place?..

 

And then there's story. Again, I feel so bad for criticizing the story while there's so much hard work being put into this mod, but weren't there any adults in the room? Why would you name Yakuza leader Wu Long? How come you learned to code and model, but never learned that Japan and China are two completely different countries?

 

There's also weird inconcistencies, like Joey not owning his own garage or trying to inflitrate a black gang by posing as one of their members. Colombians also acting not like a crime syndicate, but rather Joker's thugs from "Batman", blowing up bridges and poisoning city's channel for no reason at all.

 

Writing clearly got better by the third act, but I doubt there will be many people who'll get that far.

 

Overall, I really want to recommend this mod to all of my friends, because practically everything about it is outstanding. It's the monument of fans' dedication and talent, it's an amazing game. But I also know that none of my friends (or any normal people, really) would willingly play through its idiotic and overly difficult missions. I did it because I'm not well in the head when it comes to GTA, but most people would rage quit and they would be completely right.

 

It's a shame that all the effort from the team was put only to create something so frustrating. But good job on everything else, you can't be praised enough! I'll definitely free ride in your version of Liberty City for some time: it's cozy, interesting to explore and done in a great taste.

I don't agree that the mod is great. Perhaps, at the time of its release in 2010, it was like that (because it was the only one with a new plot for 3 at that time), but it did not pass the test of time and has long been lost against the background of other really high-quality mods. 70% of the missions are meaningless and absolutely uninteresting, the remaining 30 are average. Plot? The idea is not a bad one, but it absolutely does not develop in fact, we are marking time in one place 90% of the whole story - Tony betrayed us, and we go to work for all the gangs, performing their idiotic tasks just like that, in the end we are kidnapped, but we survive, kill Tony and the end of the game. Missions are also boring - either too complicated, or there's nothing to talk about. And the cherry on the cake, an unexpected moment almost at the beginning - you need to save about $ 750,000 to buy all the real estate and continue the plot, and at this moment we have only about $ 30,000 in our pocket. How to make money? There are 2 ways - Cheat Engine, but it's not fair and it's not interesting; perform 2 lists of import /export of transport and get $ 400,000 for it, and earn the rest from the payment of enterprises. I went through the mod 2 times, but I realized that it is one of the worst in fact and I will not go through it again. If you want to go through something really normal with a different plot for 3, then I recommend the mod "Forelli Redemption"

Thanks! I completed "Forelli Redemption" recently and I totally agree, the story and the missions are top notch. But I really appreciate the map in "Frosted Winter", I love this new alleyways and interiors.

 

Also, I haven't really seen other story mods for GTA III except for these two. Or even for VC or SA. Can you recommend something?

I know 2 more mods with a new plot for 3 - "Long Night - Liberty City" and "The Disappearance of Donald Love". Both are from x-kOfr. "Long Night - Liberty City" is about zombies and was released in the fall of 2022, I passed and I liked it. "The Disappearance of Donald Love" consists of 3 parts, but it's a little worse, but it's quite possible to play, it's also only in Russian. Both mods do not change the map, but only change the missions.


There is also "Snow City" from DimZet, to the old base of which "Frosted Winter" was transferred. There are even more map changes, but the plot is original. There is still a fresh "Tightened Thrice", but it will seem too complicated for beginners. I don't know any more big mods for 3.

Thanks! I tried "Disappearance of Donald Love" but found it terrible and didn't complete it. I will try the other ones!

My game crashes when i destroy the enemy columbian trucks in the mission 'Stealing the Guns'
I tried with RPG and M14 both, game still crashes

I wonder if it is cuz m in construction suit from the silent assassin mission

Please tel how do i get my yakuza suit back, or how do i resolve the crash issue

I haven't encountered this issue,  try turning Frame limiter ON and I also killed all the scripted Colombians on the spot then stash the Flatbed in the garage, that's the way I do it
