Hello, everybody. I've been doing some edits, bug fixing and testing recently. I've decided to make one setup file for the entire mod, This build will include the game with all the patches, previously uploaded seperately. Also all audio files. 

 

The build will also include these bug fixes:

 

Flickering text box near the holy candles

Additive Cabbie count during the 2nd taxi mision

Bad text boxes during trashmaster mission

Car color bug during 2nd silent assassin mission

Wrong checkpoint count during Construction Injection

Remaining "out of stock" uzi pickup at ammunation

Car bomb status text not disappearing after the defusal during Luigi mission

 

The build will also include these changes:

 

Changed the last taxi mission: instead of driving Borgnine, the player must steal it from the taxi station

Added two new RC rampage missions

Take a Trial Ride and The Checkpoint Chace are replaced with a bit simplier  BF injection checkpont missions.

Moved LC survivor mission to another location

Moved few hidden packages in the Ghost town

 

Existing bugs:

No Hoods mission sphere

Holy candle may drop through the floor upon touching it

 

Possible bugs:

Previously there were two bugs, that some people encountered: game crash during the Home Sweet Home and cutscene and game crash while driving to SI through the tunnel. During the last month of testing I have not encountered these bugs at all. 

 

The problem.

Before uploading the build I have to solve two problems that I encauntered.

 

1. The in game dialogue text acts weird. Some times the text appears unfinished, some times it does not appear at all. Some say that they do not have this problem so I decided to test it on another PC/laptop. But problem N2.

 

2. I've benn using my old trusty Install Maker to make the setup file. The same I've used previously. But after succesfully compiling the the set up file I ran into an unexpected issue. The set up file upon the installation asks to insert disk2. ???? Why is it doing that? I have no clue.It never did that before. It does that after installing a few audio files. Should I exclude audio from the setup? 

 

EDIT:

I've just answered my own question. Yes, it is the audio files, that ask for inserting disk 2. :/

Regarding the fact that I'm making a new all patches included installer, I am not going to provide you with separate bug fixes.

You'll just have to wait for a new re-release.

I've already fixed the bugs I've mentioned before and some other ones, like floating rampages.

Texture related bugs my be caused by a faulty installation.

I may or may not add an additional mission or two, but those are not gonna be missions on request.

I've just succesfully added a prison island from GTA  3 DE with podbyrin's help and permission.

I still have to resolve a few issues, most importantly - text problems.

Nice mod, I like the changes on the map, gives a new feeling. Gotta try if silentpatch it's compatible and Widescreen fix and see whats what. Btw Q and/or E triggers the crouch animation and I use it to change weapons (scroller aint working) how could I change it?

The text is not being correctly displayed on screen.

 

Change the button setting for weapon scrolling in menu or remove the crouch animation by removing file cover.cs from cleo folder.

The game crashes when colliding with the burning barrel or shooting at it in the tunnel (where those tramps are idling), no matter if you collide with it on foot or in a car.

Does anyone know why my gta 3 (especially this mod) wont started up at the beginning? recently I got the urge back to play gta 3 but everytime when I try to run gta3.exe it just black screen and 2 second later there's a pop up that says gta3.exe is not responding. It is not happened to me before and I have no idea to fix it, everytime is just fine to me when left it out...

Is it normal when we approach this barrel on fire, the game freezes and closes? If not, would there be a solution to this bug? :/

This mod actually, I've been testing it on vanilla gta3 and it didn't crash at the start.

check if your gta3 exe is v1.0 and not v1.1

I think I've finaly managed to identify the origin of the text display issue. I fixed it. So far as I'm testing it all text is displayed correctly.

So the problem was that the text was being displayed incorrectly: either parts of the sentence were missing or the entire text line was not displayed at all. But in the briefs section of the menu all text is displayed normaly.

This problem appeard when I edited old dialogues and replaced them with the ones improved by /\rdooZ. 

I noticed that the bug affected only the replaced dialogues and not he old ones.

I'm using an old GTA texter by feroCT5:

 It is very easy to use I have never run into any problems with it before.

Just by looking at it I couldn't spot the problem.

I've also noticed that if I changed the language, this bug was not appearing.

 

So I asumed that my american.gxt was corrupted somehow.

 

Then I remembered that I replaced the old dialogues by copy/pasting the new text from a MS WORD document. I asumed that I may have imported some Word formating that was not allowed to be in gxt file, but there was no way to see it or prove it.

 

Untill I saw it...

 

Lets play a game. A brain teaser. Spot the error:

I guess there is no point in teasing you. Here's the error:

Cursor indicates that there is a line break here. Since I was used to wrinting dialogues manually, I did not think about this being a problem for quite some time. The text entry should end with a symbol (just like the cursor indicates in the first pic). If the text entry ends with a space or worse - a line break, it gets being displayed incorrectly. 

So, never end your text with spaces or line breaks :D

 

I converted the menu and loading screens to 1920x1080 pix to accomodate the widescreen fix, but I unfortunately I cannot test it, because my monitor goes up to 1680x1050 pix only :( I'll have to trust your word on this.

 it should be fine, even on 1366x768. would you like me to test it on mine? you can just send me the TXDs.

For me the problem was with the audio pack. I've made a clean install of GTA3, then Frosted Winter with all patches except the audio pack. After that I was able to accomplish this mission without crashes ;) Hope it helps you too!
