FabioGNR
To explain: i have gta iv 1.0.7.0, with some mods, like trainer and LCPDFR but i wanted to have a look at iv-mp, installed it connected but it crashed cause of all the mods ( that what i thought ). so i copied the gta iv folder, removed the mods from the copied folder and installed iv-mp on that one, it still crashes so i looked at a FAQ from them and saw it only supports 1.0.4.0, i have to reinstall but how can i only reinstall that copy and not original, and then apply the patch to the copy? Sorry for the kinda offtopic story but this is the main question: i have to reinstall but how can i only reinstall that copy and not original, and then apply the patch to the copy? Any help appreciated! ( also suggestions on other ways ) By the way: i have retail, windows 7 Edited December 22, 2010 by fabio000 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465787-apply-patch-to-second-install/ Share on other sites
dobbity_doo
when you say "copy" are you referring to version 1.0.7.0? It's pretty difficult to understand exactly what you need with the wording you have chosen. mkey82
OK. * Uninstall the game, delete all copies that you made, you may want to back up your mods. * Install the game and patch it to 1.0.4.0 * Go to program files, and copy the entire GTAIV directory and name the folder something like GTAIV-mod, create appropriate shortcuts to the Launcher in GTAIV-mod directory, apply mods * Drop latest xliveless in GTAIV-mod directory * Install the latest patch which will only apply to the original folder If you don't use xliveless with unmodded game version, you shouldn't have any savegame conflict issues, but most probably you will have a settings conflict problem.
