BLKMAG
Specs are CPU: Athlon ii quad, 3.2ghz GPU: 1GB GDDR5 ATI 5770 RAM: 4GB 1333mhz Yet I'm still getting down to 20fps at times, average is around 40, with highs at 60 in a non crowded area. I'm getting these frames in SA:MP, not sure if the single player would be any different, but I have no desire to play singleplayer anyway after finishing it multiple times on Xbox classic. Any advice? I think the game only uses 1 CPU core right? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465637-low-fps-in-sa-overspecced-computer/ Share on other sites
super_slav
Turn the frame limiter off, if that doesnt work, go to task manager, right click in gta sa right click go to process, right click and set affinity, click all procesors. Girish
The default affinity setting is such that all cores will already be checked. SA, though, makes use of only one core. @BLKMAG: Do you have any mods installed? Start the game in single player and see if you still face the same issue. radioman
Is this the Retail(DVD) version or a Downloaded version? If Downloaded, from where? Are you using the Original DVD or a No DVD crack or a copy of said DVD? Are ALL your drivers up to date for the Video card, Sound card, DX, etc.? Have you tried turning the FX Quality to Low or Medium AND Turning AA OFF and Lowering the Draw Distance? This will help raise FPS as well as Turning the Frame Limiter OFF. But, having an 40FPS average is darn good and is smooth gameplay imo. There are people that probably can't get that and/or can't get the game to run at all, so, what's wrong with 40FPS-or FPS in the 20's for that matter? Just curious about that one.. Using retail DVD, not using a no CD crack. Drivers all up to date. I'm not lowering the settings as GTA SA already looks bad enough lol.. I'd prefer a higher framerate as I really hate choppy gameplay in crowded areas, 20-50 is definitely playable but I shouldn't get lower FPS in GTA SA than GTA 4. Girish
You haven't answered my questions. I'll repeat. Do you have any mods installed? Start the game in single player and see if you still face the same issue. win001
I dont understand why you get 20 fps in San Andreas with an over-spec computer. My computer is an Intel Core 2 Quad and 6 gb of ram yet I get 50-60 fps. So do you have ENB or something? Deji
You're lucky to get 40FPS on average. 20FPS is my average. Anyway, there's a lil link in my sig to a mod which allows you to tweak SA to gain FPS, try it out. Avskygod0
It's just because it's a MP game. All MP games are like that. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465637-low-fps-in-sa-overspecced-computer/#findComment-1060278988 Share on other sites
SarahPilko
It's just because it's a MP game. All MP games are like that. That is where you are wrong. I still have 50 - 60 fps even in SA-MP or MTA. Spider-Vice
Might be net lag. Try single player. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465637-low-fps-in-sa-overspecced-computer/#findComment-1060281098 Share on other sites
