I know , i was joking. lol.

 

I dont care too much with those radio things , anyway i dont play SA anymore , old but gold game , i was playing with my SA-MP clan , but then he closes and i have other games to play

 

When im playing a game that music dont disturb the gameplay , i play my 179 music randomly.

 

Almost 50% of music is part of games (VC , SA , IV , EFLC , Mafia 2 , NFS Series , and many other games)

 

 

Guess from what game is that music (so easy)

Might be worth effort to make the custom radio script also capable of picking up internet radio stations.

That will be quite easy, usin wmplayer lib, I have the code inside my mp3 mod, capable of using shoutcast and mms streams.

Could it be loaded in from a settings file, which then can be managed using the IVSA Launcher?

Yes u will.

There is something you could do related to sound, We don't have full WCTR, because I can't rip it from the game as 1 file.

You want me to upload the radio?

 

if yes , external website or dropbox?

If you can seperate WCTR and send only that for now... Site of upload is of your choice as long as it's relatively fast.

I dont know a site more faster then megaupload (i have it premium)

PS: You guys use the Alci's SAAT? he is the best program for audio in SA. same as Alci's IMG Editor.

WTCR is going to be hard for you guys to do because the radio station changes through out the corse of the game. How are you going to pull it off?

You can't really claim that without detailed analysis of the crashes. A memory leak anywhere from launcher and scripts to game engine itself could suddenly cause a crash on a specific hardware/software configuration. It's not something you can completely ward against.

 

P.S. Blaster, it definitely is an issue with CG. I'll send you an updated version of Flight.asi as soon as I figure out the cleanest way to fix this.

K^2: The plane won't accelerate , which suggests it can't gain any altitude neither and the doors are closing with a slight delay. What can be wrong?

 

To me , it looks like handling.dat isn't working properly.

Did you replace the handling file and drop Flight.asi into the root?

 

Edit: Handling.dat should have all zeros for flight data. Aerodynamics is no longer handled by the engine.

However, now i put it in the right spot but now the game crashes on each start confused.gif

Not much I can do about the crash going blind. I haven't had a single crash, so I didn't bother with logging of any kind. I'll add a log in the next version to see where the crash happens.

 

Are you running it on top of IV? I've been doing all the testing in BoGT. That might be making a difference, but I can't imagine where.

Yes, i'm running it on IV. Version 1.0.3.0 and i had some assumptions for crashes , but apparently they are not the cause...

 

There are no errors in the log file so it must be the .dat file or something beyond my reach

 

PS. got to run now , i can try again tomorrow.

There is nothing in the script that makes use of anything BoGT-specific, so it is supposed to run on any version. If it's crashing on IV, it's a bug, and I'll fix it one way or another.

I just downloaded it, and that's not what i needed. I need ONE file.

you mean .ogg? same as VC radio files?

San Andreas strictly uses .OGG and .WAV, but Vice City (and GTA3) used .WAV and .MP3, Vice City had some extra protection by encapsulating the Radio Station .MP3 files in the .ADF format. Personally I'd be somewhat wary of transcoding OGG to MP3, it's going to create a lossy gap, and I hope you guys arn't forcing a frequency change, that's going to cause even more quality loss. If you ask me, it would have been better to make OGG playable instead, and then use a stitcher to join together the separate OGG files into one continuous larger one.

Ogg isn't supported.

Original files were 150kb\ps, our mp3 files 160kb\ps.

Ogg Vorbis compression is slightly better. Converting 150kb/s Vorbis to 160kb/s MP3 will create artifacts.

 

If you are using a custom script to play radio, it might be a better idea to make it read Ogg files. If you're still feeding it through the engine, you can decompress to WAVE segments on the fly.
