Despite that first beta had EFLC support , it wasn't our target entirely , we just "homeaged" ourselves to IV more because we started with it and expanded our research within it , and EFLC is not completely the same as some of you may think to mod.

 

However, if anybody volunteers to do it , be our guest smile.gif

Beta testers are for only find bugs , they don't need to know anything , then , beta testers are not considered as developers.

 

If you are a developer , it means you are specialized in something , you search for bugs , find it then fix , the best is fixing the big ones , because then you dont get with many bugs to fix then you get motivated.

Hm. I installed Beta1 over BoGT, and it runs just fine. But I can switch later on over to IV. This really should affect any of the flight code, though.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

I don't know if I'm allowed to say this as beta-tester, but there just happened a lot to the beta-testers Dropbox folder.

What's going on? Removing old files?

Just a question : it can ''replace'' all multichannels , or the radio is a miracle one?

 

i mean , if with this script i can use another sounds instead of the sad multichannel ones , its gonna be super amazing. i got many sounds in my list that now i can convert smile.gif

.........It's just a separate script. It has nothing to do with simple gamemoding and you CAN'T convert sounds by this way. Got it? turn.gif

Let me try to fix the ailerons at least. For some reason, they aren't working, and I don't know if it's an issue with controls or aerodynamics computations. I also would like to add correction for angular velocity, because without it the simulation is incomplete at best.

 

You wouldn't happen to know if there is an API call to get angular velocity vector for a vehicle? There is one for the object, but I don't want to attach an object to vehicle just to get that. I'll probably just approximate it from other values if API isn't available.

 

Edit: What's the problem with multi-channel sounds again? Is it just a lack of converters? I've hacked sound files before, I guess I can take a look and see if I can figure out the file format.

Problem with multi-channel sounds is that there is no way to replace the existing multichannel sounds nor is there any way to make any ivaud of this type. I guess that's the biggest obstacle here

 

- About API, I myself would not know , and i don't think Blaster does either. We shall wait and see if someone else does...

Anyone have seen IVAud's owners? they say in next release will be multichannel support , but they never talk nothing about this.

 

Just a retard question : If we cant replace? can we at least add? i mean , instead of replacing the original files , we create a IVAud file with the songs , it makes sense , right?

Nope, we can't add. RPF 3.0 archive can't be edited with OpenIV and Spark only replaces files.

 

Audio must be in 3.0... game won't read it good in any other version

Doesn't look like there is even a native for getting the angular velocity of a vehicle. You'd be better off approximating it by regularly polling the angles in 3 directions...

I can't run GTA IV on my PC (Intel generic cards doesn't it sarcasm.gif ) but I can run 3DS 2011, and I have GTA:SA. So, if I download the required plugins, OpenIV (everything but GTA:IV) will I be able to help you?

 

I mean, at last, if I can open the mod's files, I could help you with traffic and/or collision files, which I know a little thing.

.........It's just a separate script. It has nothing to do with simple gamemoding and you CAN'T convert sounds by this way. Got it? turn.gif

U know we have our own script right, not RussianCJ's.

Cara , sério , nem tenta , se quem já tem tudo não consegue entrar no mod , imagina quem mal roda o jogo , recomendo nem tentar. se voce pelo menos um fodão no assunto até teria uma chance, mas se mal roda o jogo e sabe pouco , recomendo nem tentar.

Im just get mad when he confuses ''better not do that'' then ''you are not a f**king modder'' .

 

anyway , im thinking here what can i do , i lost all my motivation with this multichannel thing , the most important sounds cant be replaced. sad.gif The other minor almost unseen sounds will not make any difference , its looks like making a Ford T a ferrari , you can change almost anything ,but with keeping the Ford T motor , it makes no sense

 

GTA IV is really not a good game for total conversions.

It's a lack of converters and information.

The compressed sounds (radio, Niko sounds) are IMA ADPCM encoded, but in a special way. Especially the multi channel sounds.

 

I just tried replacing a sound in a single channel compressed IVAUD file by encoding to IMA ADPCM, in which I succeeded (so yeah folks there's some progress!!11!):

 

 

 

But it sounds crappy. Here's the source for comparison:

I tried using Cool Edit Pro, Audacity and the Windows Sound Recorder. All with the same crappy result. So probably there's something different in the encoding progress.

 

A plan is to use SparkIV's decoding code, and reverse it. But I didn't have the time yet, nor it looks like it's easy.
