Rutonja
Hello everyone :] I need a suggestion by some people that know very good about computers and that stuff ... Ok so, i am running GTA IV on about 20 - 23 FPS with this hardware: Graphic Card: NVIDIA 8600 GT Overclocked Processor: Intel CPU 2140 1.6 GHz Overclocked on 1.8 GHz Ram: 2 GB What should i change ? Graphic card, processor or add more ram to get more FPS. I know that GTA IV is tricky game, like you have good hardware and it's still lagging, but ... :] Anyways, still the minimum requirement is kinda fake, I'm close to the recommended but still playing on 20 - 23 FPS And, any tip, mods or anything to give me some extra FPS, just to let you know that i've tried those mods that change far distance but still doesn't boost anything, gives me lower FPS, about 18 - 20 FPS ... Forgot: I'm playing everything on Low, Water on Very High and Vehicle Density is on 18 ... Resolution 1024 x 768 : 85 Hz And one more problem if someone can help ! When i play GTA IV for some time, game starts to lag and i have to go on desktop, refresh few times and get back in game to make it stop lagging ... Thanks people. T-ru
About lagging ,your last question read here :http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=404147 Honestly, you must upgrade evrtything from listed, but for start upgrade CPU (GTA IV is CPU depending), then GPU and RAM Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465605-suggest-me-and-tip/#findComment-1060255834 Share on other sites

DocMenach
...Anyways, still the minimum requirement is kinda fake, I'm close to the recommended but still playing on 20 - 23 FPS No, your CPU isn't even at what the stated minimum requirements are and your GPU is also out of date. Game says Minimum Core2 Duo at 1.8GHz, your Pentium D is a generation older than that. A Core2 processor is much more powerful than a PentiumD at the same clock speed. I'm surprised you are even getting 20fps. Forgot: I'm playing everything on Low, Water on Very High and Vehicle Density is on 18 ... Resolution 1024 x 768 : 85 Hz You should change your setting for water quality. Water is very GPU intensive. Why would you have everything else on low and decide to set water to very high? Obvious statement: You will get better framerates if you reduce your resolution. To be quite honest, if you want to run the game with decent framerates at anything other than the lowest settings then you would need to replace both your CPU and your GPU. Both are holding you back, and replacing one won't help because then you will be held back by the other one. Genuine Intel®CPU 2140 @ 1.60 GHz 1.80 GHz ... That's what it says, i guess it's dual core ... And about water, this game is weird, i putted water on low and -2 FPS Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465605-suggest-me-and-tip/#findComment-1060256012 Share on other sites
mkey82
It's a dual core, but a very slow one. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465605-suggest-me-and-tip/#findComment-1060256347 Share on other sites
TheTomster
You need at LEAST 3 cores for this game to function properly. I recommend you build a new system entirely if you are seriously wanting better performance. If not, then deal with it man, unless you run the game in windowed-mode, and stretch the screen to your resolution.
