unhandled exeption have i done things right ?

Recommended Posts

okay so, i want to make models and put them in GTA 3 this is what i have done:

1. Go into sketchup pro and make a model, Group it together and export as .3ds

2. Imported model into 3dsmax scaled down and made all colours white.

3. Made a .col file and exported it

4. Made a dff file and exported it

5. Open txd workshop and make a new file, made a 32bit image

6. imported texture image into the "32 bit" image, renamed and saved.

7. opened gta3.img and imported my models ".dff", ".col" and ".txd"

8. Rebuilt archive.

9. Opened MED, made new ide and ipl files, placed my model into the map

10. Saved ide, ipl and install

11. go in game, start new game.

12. While loading i get a "unhandled exeption error"

Have i done something wrong in my process ? thankyou for taking your time to read this, please help me smile.gif

Before you export the model to a col or dff in 3dsmax, make sure the pivot is moved and rotated to 0.0 0.0 0.0 and the scale is 100 all around.

Then reset the xform and bob's your uncle! (export, i mean tounge.gif)

Step by step instruction ?? thanks icon14.gificon14.gificon14.gif

Same steps as your's but do the new steps before exporting the files.

You'd be better off not using sketchup at all and doing everything in 3dsmax, SKU bugs collisions and sometimed models too.

Ok to change the move and rotation numbers without changing the actual mesh select 'affect pivot only' change the numbers then unselect it.

Press Reset>Scale to put the scale to %100 (only works when affect pivot only is on)
