catalinatook9years
i'll start from the beginning. i first installed a bmw 550i mod to replace a taxi using SA mod installer. then i used the sa handling editor by jacob to modify the specs. now it appears as if the car was under the road, but the wheels were still standing up. whenever i shoot it, the game freezes and then it crashes. then i reinstalled SA. i appeared in las venturas as usual, and then that taxi is still sunken under, and still crashes if i shoot it! i reinstalled everything, got rid of the handling editor, and still, that car is unenterable, unshootable, and crashes my computer everytime i see one. how do i fix this? lil weasel
... Note that this forum is only for unmodded copies of the game. For anything related to add-ons, tools or mods, please visit the modding forums! The emphasis is mine. You must have missed the Centre Main Menu choice for MODDING. And obviously the Banner lettering: Modding questions belong in THE MODDING FORUMS! Where you click on the underlined words. that’s where you can find players who ARE modders, that can really give you some help! And... before people here begin investing a lot of time trying to fix a possible NO-FIX situation: How are you playing: 1. With the Original DVD in the Drive? 2. OR are you Using a 'backup' disc? 3. Are you Using a No-CD crack? 4. OR a Downloaded game from Direct2Drive, or SteamPower.com 5. If none of the above, where did you get your game? Please specify. lil weasel
Remove all the mods. Play the game, if no problems you have no problems. Put the mods back One-At-A-Time, Play the game after each install, until it fails. Don't use that mod. Girish
Delete the entire GTA San Andreas folder manually and the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder too. Additionally, if you're on Vista or 7, you might need to delete the virtual store copy of the game too. After that, reinstall the game and everything should be back to normal. Girish
C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas Delete that folder. It's only present in Windows Vista or Win 7, though Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465366-this-is-just-getting-ridiculous/#findComment-1060251873 Share on other sites
catalinatook9years
ah ok. i have windows 7. and wth this is just weird! i saw a taxi come by, and i took a washington car and reversed into it. then the colors became all yellow and then it suddenly said "Park it and LEG IT!" as if i installed a car bomb. then the frame froze, and i heard a boom and then wasted came on the screen. then i just saw blackness in the game, no game radar, only the weapon and health indicator was showing. when i pressed esc, and entered "resume" the colors turned into the yellow ish pattern again and froze. this is like freaking me out edit: when i relaunched SA, none of the cars were on the road anymore. wth? windows 7 intel gma950 intel core 2 duo 2.0ghz 3gb of ram Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/465366-this-is-just-getting-ridiculous/#findComment-1060251879 Share on other sites
lil weasel
You want a good clean uninstall and rebuild the game from your new disc. UNINSTALL and install if you have VISTA: ..., you'll need to do this: 1) Uninstall SA. 2) Delete the installation folder if it still exists. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas). 3) Delete the Virtual Store copy of the installation folder too. The Appdata folder might be hidden. (e.g. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas). 4) Delete the gta_sa.set file from your user files folder. 5) Reboot. 6) Reinstall SA. We'll presume you have a version 2 game disc, which will require downgrading IF you want to modify the game. BUT play it first as a clean installation to be sure it works before you muck with it.
