It works fine. You must have a messed up GTA IV install.

But if it doesn't work for me on a clean install, where every other mod I've ever tried works, then it's not my problem. And that's my point, you can't call something a beta and release it when it only works for half the people who download it. But whatever tounge.gif

From your words i understood that you have spoken and had some conflicts with all Russians around the world... Man you need to grow a little bit or change your national look. GTARandom, all of your posts are last?

200k is not that special they have videos with 500 000 views and so on my video has around 200k

 

i really supported this project but after all the things you said i lost all respect for the entire project

What we said? I didnt seen something "horrible" in what we said... And again, we are not chasing your respect or something like that. We are just working on our mod!

well you joked about someones death then despite random being nice enough to cancell viceiv to let you work in peace to make peace you still continued

 

i think you should apologize to random for the death thing then we can ALL make peace this is supposed to be fun and not a competetion you do this for fun right

And what will happen now? Will this Map Conversation will take again 2 years until he just managed to create Paths thats ridicoulous!!! GTARandom when you didnt stopped with your Vice IV mod it would be released now with Paths and less glitches anyway

I am not referring to all russians, i'm refering to: RussianCJ, Deaglos and -Quantum-, I don't know who else is on this team, I wouldn't know them anyway.

If you have something against a member of the team, then you have something against the whole team.

 

Yes I know it has 200k views, why? Because it's GTA Vice City, not because it's so special or anything.

That's kind of the thing, Vice City is pretty boring if you can't do anything, it's so small. San Andreas is so big you can just play around with SNT and having fun.

We don't see quality in size of the map. We prefer to have a little map with various activities, than a huge map, which is useful only with some trainer.

 

Quality?? All models and textures look sh*tty, if you want real quality, remodel and retexture them.

We have more important features to work with.

 

All I see is the same map from 9 years ago with some RAGE abilities.

We see it in your modification. New palms and textures doesn't mean anything. It's the same map. By the way, you can't see all features we've got in our modification only through videos and screens. It's our development policy. We won't show absolutely all the features until release.

 

And what's all the fuzz about the paths?? It's so damn obvious: There is NO programmer working on paths...How can we make paths for IVSA if no one researches it and writes a proper tool. I am Not able to make paths since i am a modder, not a programmer.

You could wait for them and work with the map more time. But it was your choice to release your modification so early.

I can't even start IVSA due to 'invalid resources' on a clean install of IV, I can't select what I want from the installer for some reason, everyone I know says the map is buggy as hell, etc. I don't think it should be released in the alpha stages (IVSA isn't even close to an alpha frankly). They're obsessed with fame, constantly releasing screenshots and videos, talking up how good the mod is, getting angry when people ask questions... I would say it's the IVSA team with the massive ego, not the developers behind VCRAGE. It's much better to release a quality mod that everyone can enjoy. I was interested in IVSA at first, but I lost all interest when I realized that it barely works. It just makes you lose confidence in the mod (no offense to any of the IVSA team).

It works fine. You must have a messed up GTA IV install.

 

edit: In case anyone doubts the wild popularity of the San Andreas IV mod, look at the topic. Over 400 pages, the most views and posts of any topic in this entire forum section.

not fighting but the last 200 pages have been people complaining about it not working (because they werent installing it right of course)

Those models aren't even made by us modders they were made by R*.

 

They can put an end to this if they wanted to.

 

VCRage has better secret tools that are not public if you are talking about quality then give us those tools and you will see the quality all of us can do.

Its perfection you guys seem to want? You seem to be talking about SA:IV being glitchy. Its perfictly playable and runs just fine. Rockstar has not released a new GTA game in a while. So if they dont release people wont have anything new GTA wise. If it was not for us people would not have anything new to explore and if we aimed for perfection it would take too long and by then Rockstar would of released a new GTA which would take much intrest away from the modification. I will admit it but no modification can have more perfection than the game created by Rockstar an offical corporation. When Rockstar works on a GTA game there aiming for perfection and they have lots of developers working on it. However on a mod there is only a few people working on it and Ill sum up my point. It seams you guys are trying to make this like an offical game and its going to take a long time to do. But offical companies show stuff to get people interested. For all we know you guys only have the Vice City map, Vice City Cars, and Vice City hud. You guys make out like you have a tone of new stuff that has not been done before in GTA modding. If you want to atract more people in then you need to show at least something new you have. It showes that work is being done and people know whats going on so they know what to expect. No offense but I dont know when or if this mod will be released. Im not saying you have to show off everything. Im not trying to be offensive, Im trying to be constructive. It seams like you guys are treating the mod teams and your own like there corperations making games.

 

There modifications. There are different imputs put into them. People who make things with perfection dont go around and critisize everyone elses work.

No the point is the fact that they havent showed much, so how was I supposed to know. I dont feal the heat coming on this mod like I did with IV: SA or Vice IV where new things were being shown to wow everyone. I think they should show more, but not everything, kinda like videogame developers do.

Not releasing tools, because of jealousy is a common thing nowadays. That's why this community is getting to a point where everyone is just CONVERTING stuff and not doing anything special and custom. smile.gif Everyone is so f*cking proud that they can't be arsed to help newbies in the community or create a project, where every modder could participate.

 

That's why we really don't appreciate your work... you are showing off to a community where modders are eagerly waiting for numerous tools, to edit game files, but you are keeping everything for yourself. It gets a bit boring after a time.

The thing is the Vice City Rage team seems to want to be independent from other teams and wishes to stay that way. I dont know if they even accept new members.

If this team has secret tools which are more advanced than what is out there at the moment, doing anything other than releasing them is incredibly selfish.

 

This is meant to be a modding community, and none of this is for-profit.

I have this fealing that people are geting the impression that this is going to be one of those mods where they charge for it. But if you think about it if a Rockstar Developer is creating a mod for GTA IV and using tools that Rockstar used to make the original game he can get in truble if he leaks the tools. But it seems that VCR want to take advantage of the tools and use them to better there modification before the other ones can. I wonder when they release the mod if they will release there tools. They would be a HUGE help to the GTA community. But they may supprise us with figuring out the Xbox 360 and PS3 file formats too, and have the mod working on there too. Wonder if they have scripted missions.

Even if it is the dumbest idea on this planet , if i want i can continue it and i don't care what Russians or anyone has to say about it. Nobody can stop me from resuming work on Vice IV , you remember that.

Well, first you began making ViceIV and after "beta" closed it, then you entered GTA IV: San Andreas team as a map converter and after released "beta" left it. Now you are in GTA III Rage team. I have a strong desire to predict, what will happen next.

 

I'm not judging you. I'm just advising you to complete at least one modification. And I'm sure, that the rest of Rage Team would tell you the same.

I've read a lot here, and I've tried not to have to reply and add to all this.. But seriously. The only reason he leaves is because he has lent the help needed to get it to the beta stage. There is no more he can do without the needed tools. i wish you would stop you're argument with him and the rest of the SA:IV team.

I honestly hope you and blaster get together and work on ViceIV, I'll redo the ModDB page biggrin.gif There were a lot of people on the page looking forward to the release that probably don't even know about VCR. (Just stating it actually gained a few more peoples interest)

Seriously, the most funny thing about this is that, they are researching an engine which is not their's, even though reverse-engineering of it is clearly against law. So they HAVE to keep it a secret.... biggrin.gif Even though the most of them are selling modifications on the web. biggrin.gif

Ok, from what i've read it seems that the VCRage team have better tools for IV modding, however the fact that the team hides their "better tools" seems to contradict their "fame grabbing style" that people have been talking about.

So, which is it? Are the team bluffing about having new tools and just using the existing ones?

Or do the VCR team not want to release the tools because it would make other modders create more improved modifications than the mod that the VCR team are working on?

These tools:

1) Just make conversion faster. They were used only at the beginning of development.

2) Not adapted for public use. We'll think about its adaptation after beta release.

I see converted peds and I don't think that was the beginning of the "development" let's face it.

2) Open ODR with NotePad

3) Compare them.

 

I don't know, what were you thinking, when you were telling, that peds are possible only with OpenIV 0.9.3. It's absolute stupid nonsense. Who said it to you?

You either have a WFT exporter for map objects or hiding a way to do this.

 

Note: Pic is from February , long before even ODR was available.

 

 

 

One private tool for sure was IPL2WPL converter, before i wanted him to lend me , he never did so.... some tools WERE deffinatly private. Nothing can back that up

This is ZModeler model. Many things have been changed since February.

 

Some tools are private, because it has OpenIV sources inside and we have an agreement with GooD-NTS, that they will be private because of it. So, it's question for him.
