It appears like we both made a mistake. Actually price for single add-on is 560 MSP, so paying 1600 (560 x 3 = 1680) is a bit of a bargain after all.

EA still have exclusive rights to Porsche when it comes to gaming. The deal is between Turn 10 and EA, who has the rights to license out Porshce's likeness to other video game creators, or so I have read on numerous sites regarding the whole issue.

So, I explored a car fully in the Autovista part of the game, yet didn't receive my rewards for doing so...? Anyone else had this problem, or know what I'm doing wrong? I literally went around the full car, got in both sides, opened/explored every nook and cranny, and yet still received nothing for my troubles.

 

Oh, and I requested to join the car club, if anyone is still playing this game?

I've been playing this awesome game a lot recently and decided to compare the RS5 and the S5.

I took both to the that long track in France to test their handling capabilities, but most importantly their top speed. The S5 felt a little slow to 0-60 but it manuevered well and had a wonderful exhaust note. It hit 180mph at the most and braked pretty well.

 

The RS5 was of course a different story. 0-60 was anything but slow. The exhaust note was gorgeous and the car felt so much lighter - but it actually weighed 100 pounds more. I hit the straight and just floored it. The car kept climbing rapidly but once I hit 170 it slowed down. I didn't evem hit 180, instead the car could only reach 174mph. So it seems the RS5 is quicker than but has the same limits as the S5. Interesting.

I had the same problem with the achievement. I tried about 3 different cars and none of them popped it. Kind of silly if I'm missing something though. I can't say I play it any more, kind of gets a little mundane just going around the track about 5 or more times being in first place.

I like testing cars, I tested some of the best 90s Sportscars on the Circuit Sarthe, and I got these:

 

Porsche 993 GT2 with 993 TUrbo bodykit (Me)

Lamborghini Diablo SV

Ferrari 550 Maranello

 

The Porsche has better acceleration, the Diablo was the fastest, and the Ferrari seemed to have handling on par with the Diablo

I have never gotten the autovista achievement either. Beginning to wonder if I need to unlock and explore once certain car, or all of them...

 

I have played a sh*t ton of Forza 4. It's a great game, but definitely repetitive after a while. I'll put it down for a few months, but I usually pick it back up again here and there. I'll eventually get the bucket list achievement. Over all I think I still enjoy it over Horizon. I really like the free roam environment they came up with in that game... but something is off in it. Just doesn't do it for me.

Hey, sorry for bumping and old topic for an "old" game.

 

I was wondering if anyone has a link to a good page for online tips? I looked around but I love getting info from my people on here. I'm pretty new to Forza and I believe I'm not too bad at the game so far when it comes to driving skill. I'm playing manual gears/Advanced and rarely use the rewind option - maybe once or twice in my 40 races or so.

I read that there' no point in buying new cars as you just win them anyway. I can see why and I've only bought two - the BMW E92 M3 and the Ferari F430. I'm not going to bother buying more cars..

 

I've been using the Mercedes Benz 190E as it just looks balla. I supped it up to A576 for a laugh but I don't know how to tune for my life! It performed really well on one of the Bernese Alps track.. I got a great rank (for a beginner) at 52 thousand and something out of 860 thousand and something (top 6%) against A600's.

 

Anyone of you have basic tips for online? Or if there's lobbys available purely for these sort of cars ( Benz 190E) that are upgraded to A class or whatever.

 

I love cars that you'd see on the street mostly as opposed to super-cars, especially the boxy good ones like the BMW E30 M3, Honda Civic(s) and the Benz 190E. Is there any point in trying to compete with these old skool box-goblins or should I keep upgrading to more powerful, modern cars. I do love a Ferari and a Lambo now and then. I do love riding the supped up underdog though.. taking a junker to glory!

From my experience in Hotlapping in forza and general races, the weirdest cars are usually the top 5% of the leaderboard and the only way to be competitive. I remember there was a Bernese Alps Lap community rival event for A class cars and literally the top 100 were all civics beating out cars like 850s, F355's and etc. Pubs are usually stomped by the same quirky cars like rwd swapped rabbits and others in their respective classes.

 

I usually just stick to drifting, but every now and then if lobbies are there, i'll pop into a multi-class race since those are my fav and in terms of tuning, you just have to have a tiny bit knowledge and read what each setting does if your clueless. Test, rinse and repeat. I like to make my tunes as universal as i can which is easier for drifting than racing.

Thanks for the response. That's pretty interesting about weird cars being up there. I'm going to head home and have a go online and see if I can do better than my abysmal last place run last time.
