Firefly8000
They are gonna beat Gran Turismo 5 Im not looking forward to the debate. Forza is using Kinect, though. Will that be a positive or a negative factor?
Dallasa
Interesting. The Forza series has never interested me in any way (it's always seemed cheap and souless for whatever reason), but I'm curious to see what Forza 4 brings. Pretty sh*t teaser though, if the game really will be out next year then they should have something other than real-time footage to show for it. Good f*cking luck trying to achieve the precision necessary to be competitive in a racing sim with an invisible wheel and pedals. You'll need it. tubbs51
It'll be Compatable with Kinect... not need Kinect. at least thats what i imagine... the developers would be stupid to make it Kinect only...

Yeah, I completely agree there. These kinds of teasers where they show real-time footage are so stupid. You can't say anything about the game. Petarkco
Another game with Top Gear in it. I'm going to wait for real in game footage before deciding to buy it or not.
Blackadder.
There was ingame footage in that trailer, most notably at the end where they showed the car doors opening etc, it has the same little markers around the car that appeared when they previously showed how Kinect would work with Forza. Likewise I doubt we'll see much Kinect functionality past what they've already shown us. The overlapping minigame (pass as many cars in as little time as possible) and the car showcase mode, where you get to look all around and car and get up close to it. I expect maybe a few more Kinect based minigames as well the rest of what we didn't see of the car showcase mode.
the young hooligan
Not a very good first impression, that trailer was pretty unexciting. Still, Forza 3 was alright, will be interesting to see how this one turns out. I can just imagine the GT5 Vs Forza arguments that are bound to pop up all over the interwebs... Yeah, I completely agree there. These kinds of teasers where they show real-time footage are so stupid. You can't say anything about the game. Err, that's the point of a teaser. This series needs more tracks, not 10 tracks with a couple of different routes. It gets so boring quick racing the same few tracks over and over again. Get your wallet out and pay for some track licenses.

ptiko
They are gonna beat Gran Turismo 5 Based on real footage and a rendered car. WOW. BRILLIANT. In all fairness, the forza games always felt a bit. sh*t.
Benzoboy
Did anyone else notice the drifting in the trailer? Maybe we'll get a full on drift mode instead of FM3's "Up to get points" system

Seddo
Yeah bullsh*t, I've seen plenty of teasers in my life that showed some form of in-game footage. That Forza teaser did have some in game footage (although it was a sh*tty Kinect part). There has also been teasers out there that haven't showed actual gameplay such as Bioshock, Fallout 3 and NV, Halo 3 - ODST-Reach.... There is no rule about putting gameplay in a teaser trailer, the object of a teaser is to start building some hype up for the game.

GTA3Freak-2001
If they can give us a better inclusion of top gear then GT5 does then I am there(shouln't be too hard)! Seriously though anyone who likes their cars and racing should get this, GT5 offers something yet lacks plenty much in the same way Forza has and will do in its fourth iteration. I don't think any developer has released a perfect racer yet but here's hoping the competition that seems to be going on with EA and its sim branch of the NFS series, Sony and their GT along with MS and Forza will result in better racing games featuring the things we want. Instead of hitting a button to look back, you look back. There are also rumors of Kinect interaction in the garage/tuning shop/painting shop. Making it easier to place decals and fine tune your ride. Kinect will not be used for controlling a car during actual racing within the SIMULATED part of the game.

Instead of hitting a button to look back, you look back. Look back at what? Head tracking would be self defeating unless you're surrounded by televisions. Turn your head IRL to turn your head in the game, and you're not looking at the TV anymore. I'm still pretty excited about this. Not too sure how much I'll play it when it comes out, but I'll be buying whatever collector's edition they release. Maybe this will get me to haul out my racing wheel and fire up FM3. One thing that bothers me though is how underwhelming a massive crash in NFS: Shift is. It would be nice if a head-on collision at least lead to an instant failure of the race (no need to die like in Mafia ). You should be able to wreck your car and if you crash at 200 km/h against another car coming at you at 200 km/h it should really feel like it. Basically, what I'm saying is that they should combine the realistic physics of Forza/GT with the realistic damage from DiRT/GRID and feel of Burnout. It's just ridiculous that a game where driving is merely an "extra" like in GTA IV has far more realistic damage than GT.

I'm sure i've read that they've dropped the NFS part from the game and it's just called Shift 2: Unleashed. Using a controller isn't exactly the best at precision racing, it can be a little jaggy when going around corners so Kinect couldn't be to much worse if they get it working right. Automakers do not want their cars to be portrayed in such as way as to possibly compromise its public image when it comes to the safety of its vehicles. Putting "realistic" damage in a game just throws people into fits similar to the way people sh*t bricks when someone can play as the Taliban in a multilayer FPS game. If you were an automaker would you want to find out that when, in a game with ultra-realistic damage/handling/graphics, your car fares worse than your competitor's car who is in the game too? Its bad for your public image, no matter how true or realistic the damage is.
