meta187
And what do you mean by base level experience as I'm not sure - you mean the experience needed to reach the next level? Yes. @Rusty: Pickpocketing is a good utility skill to have on hand whether you're hanging in the shadows or bellowing with two hands on a sword in the middle of town. I can imagine playing it both ways tbh. You only need to invest 3 perk points getting to Cut Purse which is actually all you really need to take gold effectively, from there play it as you wish. hambones
i had a pretty eventful skyrim sesh last night, read on if you want to read spoilers including the dark brotherhood. i received a note from a courier randomly in town after killing the old lady at the orphanage in riften. i opened it and all it had was a black hand and "we know" at the bottom. i went to my home and slept. i woke up in an abandoned cabin with the leader of the dark brotherhood telling me one out of the three people that were tied up had a bounty on their head. i killed them all and left the cabin after talking to her. i looked it up and realized i could have taken out the dark brotherhood but i guess that will have to wait for when i make a new character. so i leave and just start walking around aimlessly. i see something that looks like a ghost.. i'll leave links to the pics if you want to see them. it was definitely one of the coolest experiences i've had in skyrim so far. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0100.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0101.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0102.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0103.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0104.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0105.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/vani...er/IMG_0106.jpg he led me to hamvir's rest where i had to fight three skeletons and a draugr. after the enemies popped out he just vanished. Three. One Initial Point into [Light Fingers] > [Night Thief] > [Cut Purse]. MrcTOtheJ
I need to use floor traps more often, but the idea escaped my mind at the time. You can use floor traps? Do you mean laying your own or re-setting ones already lying on the ground? No they're Floor trap rune spells, they can be quite useful if used strategically, there's one for Frost, Fire and Lightning, all apprentice level destruction so it dosen't take much to learn them, the court mages should have the spell tombs for all of them. (Or at least the one in Whiterun.) Right now I'm grinding gold for Ebony and Deadra harts, so I've been doing the random DB assassinations you get after you beat that quest and I'm doing some of the Thieves guild jobs, the Thieves jobs are a bit more entertaining then the Random DB assassinations, but pay less. I also got my one handed to 100 last night so what should I do now, Two Handed, Marksman, or just work on my Magic some more? I‘ve been wanting Illusion to go up so I might go the Mage route. (My resto is at 45, Conjuration is a 56 and my destruction is bout 39 or 41 I don't remeber at the moment) I'm also going to do what mattymcs and use leather bracelets to level up smithing, that way I can save my cash for Ebony and Deadra harts. (Which I'm geting from Enthir the guild mage/fence)

(My resto is at 45, Conjuration is a 56 and my destruction is bout 39 or 41 I don't remeber at the moment) Illusion is a very easy skill to put up. Buy Muffle from a mage and spam that as you walk around. There are rewards for completeing the Mage College storyline that regens magic quick and fortifys it, which really helps as you can get 3 x muffle spells from one bar, but if you havent done that then pick up some robes from any enemy mages you kill as these often have 50% or 75% magic regen speed enchantments. So in any towns when there is no danger of attach you can just keep spamming the spell when your magic regens. In the early levels ONE muffle was raising my Illusion almost a full skill point and even now I have it on 50 something it only takes about 6. Those three perks are gone forever but those dungeons will re- spawn. I'm maybe being an overly picky prick here - as per. Nah. I actually replied in the main character build topic on what you posted, that there is something to be said for really narrowing down and focusing your Perk allotment into a choice few trees as opposed to trying to be a "jack of all trades" as you put it. You'll find the skills you focus on more effective and powerful and garner direct incentive to come back and try something new. However, there were a few choice skill sets that I've found just investing a few perks into utility wise are just sound strategy for the entire game, regardless of your character type. [Restoration] Invest at least 3 points to unlock [Regeneration] then learn the spell Fast Heal, you'll always have a quick reliable back up when you run low on potions, even if you're Magicka rating is in the crapper it's a fairly cheap skill to cast. [Lockpicking] Invest the 5 perk points you need to get to [Treasure Hunter]. I cannot sing the praises on this perk enough, it changes everything in the game for the better. Special drops, more gold. Kick ass, no question. [Enchanting] If you maxed out your Blacksmithing investing 2 points in this to get your [insightful Enchanter] perk makes perfect sense. Learning to enchant multiple items and then wearing them all at once will create a stack effect with Minor & Major smithing add ons that will allow you to push your weapons and armor well beyond their initial base DAM and DEF rating even at Legendary quality. Forty
Today is the first day I got f*cked by a game glitch, and I need to go back a couple saves and try again. I took Lydia to Treva's Watch for a later Companions quest. Deep inside the tower, I had already killed the leader and grabbed the required loot, and was exploring further into the keep, when we were ambushed by 5 guys. I ran down one hallway, Lydia down another. After some intense battling, everyone was dead. I found Lydia's body in a hallway, crumpled between two Silver Hand corpses and beneath a studded mace trap that had sprung on them all. At least she went down swinging.... The f*cked part is that I got attacked shortly after and was killed, so I paused and reloaded. Well, now Lydia is still dead, but I no longer have the quest loot in my inventory, even though I have the loot from all the bandits I've killed- and the bandit leader has now respawned in the top of the tower. It's like it only saved half of the quest. Totally f*cked me. AND Lydia has about 2000g worth of loot in her inventory and I'm not strong enough to carry it all back. F*CK! .2D
Just completed the Winterhold College questline, and absolutely fecking loved it when it picked up, went in with Kharjo and messed sh*t up. Loved it. I love having followers around, and sometimes they're a great help as pack mules or in combat. But I hate having to watch them like loose kids. I know they almost always turn up eventually, or after waiting an hour or so, but even with pimped out armor I still have to make sure they don't fall too far behind or run off into combat and get killed. One problem I'm having with Kharjo is he hangs back a lot and uses his bow way too often. I've kitted him out with sexy Ebony armor and weapons but the f*cker keeps sitting back and either not fighting or firing some piss poor iron arrows from a distance out of some sh*tty hunting bow I can't take off of him. Still, he's a great follower to have about. I'm not about to get rid of him, especially after the f*cking effort to locate him. any Necromancers out there have any good Dead Thrall stories? I thought Zombie Ulfric was good but I was talking to a coworker and he said that you can Dead Thrall werewolf corpses, which seems like it would be awesome. Oh, thanks for that. As for your question, I have no idea for Necromancy works on the game yet, but I definitely look forward to finding out, sounds pretty cool. Forty, I'm not sure if you can get through the gate, but if you can I can't wait to do it, the whole trip there and the first quest were both brilliant. Off to get some sh*t done on my Mage, methinks.

Forty
Agreed about the followers being a pain in the ass sometimes. Lydia has absolutely no creep to her. Even when I go in sneak, she is in sneak, but if I fire ONE arrow she takes that as her cue to unleash the hounds. It is almost impossible to pick off scouts at a bandit hideout one by one without her trying to Rambo up to the group. And I can't tell you how many times I found a tricky way across some rocks so I could come down on some enemies from above, only to see that Lydia, in all her GENIUS, has taken the long way around and is going through the front gate. Sometimes I wish she'd just f*ck off. I know I could tell her to wait, but then I'd have to go back and get her. Just wish she were a bit smarter. Toup
One thing I tought was nice was that Lidya, while I was doing the Stormcloack quests, always screamed long live Stormcloacks and more sentences relating to the choices I had made. ^Forty I usually tend to ask my partner to leave when I wanna play the sneaky guy. Then, when something harder comes up I bring them with me.

King Of Monra
46 hours of gameplay, I still have not finished the main story, I've gotten to the part where you talk to that dragon on the top of the mountain. mrpain
I pity this small town near Riften, I forgot the name of the town. It got attacked by a bear and a frostbite spider. No biggie. Then a pack of trolls came in. Moments later, a dragon swooped in and swooping is bad for the town. I'm really loving Erandur as my follower. He doesn't wear any armor I give him and yet he still has not died. He's an all-rounder with his Glass Mace, Dwarven Bow and crazy magic skills. Just today he burned the sh*t outta a dragon, then shot some Forsworns with his bow and finally smacked the dragon with his mace for the final blow. Another positive about, he has a comment on each town or city everytime!
Fireman
I'm quite disappointed with the quests and the way people respond to them. I got the point where the Harbinger of the Companions dies and nobody responds to the situation at all. You go to one keep to suddenly wipe out the Silver Hand, which now only has nine people left (add the six corpses in Jorrvaskr and they had 15 people total who managed to get into the city and attack Jorrvaskr). The only thing Valkis says is Let's make them pay, a million times in a row. The other companions don't respond at all to the death of their Harbinger, they just wait outside until you get back. I'm just so disappointed in the dialogues and story-writing, sure it's a TES game, so I didn't expect much. But meh, I wish people would talk some more, the only people with dialogue lines about recent events are Guards. It just doesn't make a realistic image while doing a quest. Urban Legend
Has anyone else fought a crazy amount of dragons once leaving Winterhold? d0mm2k8
I'm quite disappointed with the quests and the way people respond to them. I'm more disappointed in NPC reactions to dragons. The guards are so f*cking fearless it's retarded whilst civilians just don't seem to give a sh*t that a dragon's near by. Bethesda, hurry up and release the Creation Kit so modders can fix this sh*t. Forty
Apparently Bethesda hired 5 voice actors for the entire game. The blacksmith in Riften is the same guy who does the voice for Farkas and like 47 other NPCs. This is not really a complaint by me, though, because it's the same in Fallout. I just wish the guy doing the acting would realize he isn't changing his voice, like, at all. I'm currently trying to kill the master vampire outside of Morthal. A bunch of villagers came with me to clear the camp, but as soon as I walked in the front door of the cave I was by myself. No idea what the point of that big show was. They ran through the woods with axes held high, making a big scene. Now where are they? I still may find them deeper inside the cave. I've been working on my smithing like crazy. Finally was able to create an entire Flawless Gilded Elven Armor set for my dark elf, and a Flawless Elven Bow. Looks so f*cking awesome. I know there are better sets in the game but it is supremely satisfying to create something like that for yourself. I also like dicking around with alchemy. It's a good way to level up and fun to make crazy potions. It's like cooking but more rewarding. Edited November 27, 2011 by Forty

meta187
A TEoS Ingot. * There was a lot of talk about having a lot more voice actors this go round. Something like 77ish if I recall correctly but I still notice a ton of recycling as well, sadly. * I was really enjoying the writing on the Thieves Guild questline but the fight with Mercer Frey was far too simple. There was all this talk about the Skeleton Key being a mystical object that could unlock not only doors but the hidden powers of the mind, so I expected some sort of mystical Big Trouble In Little China showdown. Instead, he just stood there as I repeatedly thunked arrows into the side of his head. ~ Studio: Q-13 Lounge / Q:13 Warrior Tunes / Interweb Chex Mix, yo.~
