Otter
Engine Shmengine. An engine can be manipulated to any end. What I'd love to see, right off the bat: - animation overhaul. obviously. - "Natural Bodies" - the same level of customization on bodies as we've seen on the 'natural faces'. - Speaking of natural faces, it seriously needs an overhaul this time around. Textures and blending, in particular, need some serious TLC. - AI - driven dialog, or at least a smarter communication system. I want characters to feel real, and not like wax figures that spit out random sh*t. And a HUGE overhaul to the reputation/disposition system. - Proper Kajhit and Argonians. A little more bounce in their step, aye? - FAR LESS SCALED CREATURES! ...to name a few.
[SM]CJZera
Seriously, pardon my ignorance, but if only Obsidian hadn't grabbed Oscuro... unless the rumors about Zenimax purchasing Obsidian end up true... Also, I hope Daedric armor is rare this time, and not in the inventory of Every. Single. Random. Bandit. Heck, I want bandits with Fur, Leather and at most a trashed steel armor... Also perhaps we'll get environment frost damage similar to fire/frostfire place in IV?

Other than it being the most addictive RPG on the Xbox? the game is so big... i spent 1000 hours on TESIV Oblivion and still had quests to do.... Creed Bratton
Cant wait for it! I love those snowy regions in TES. Me too. Bruma was my favorite city in TES IV. And I play as Nord dressed all in fur with a claymore. God damn TES games are probably the best RPG games of all time. They really make you feel like you're the character. Don Garcia
Nick Brendon, the community manager at Bethesda Softworks, has revealed via Twitter that Skyrim is using an all-new graphics/gameplay engine. This implies that the developer will not be using the Gamebryo engine used in previous Elder Scrolls titles. "We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic," Brendon tweets to his followers. "It's a new graphics/gameplay engine built internally. We'll have more details down the road," Brendon tweets in reply to a fan. Scheduled for release on November 11 of next year, Game Informer will have an exclusive cover story on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in its upcoming February issue. GameStop already has it up for pre-order. thanks for the fix adamcs Edited December 15, 2010 by Don Garcia

Robinski
Seeing as some info seems to have been edited out above. I'll just let you guys know that Game Informer has the exclusive first look at Skyrim in their January February (apparently) issue. Get excited. Edited for accuracy. Democrab
This has made me even more excited than someone announcing GTA V. This is just going to be huge. Only thing worrying me is how XBox can handle this. I havent seen major graphical improvements in a while so I'm guessing that my precious XBOX is a bit outdated My computers integrated graphics chip (i.e. Meant for excel, word, etc) outstrips the xbox's...for one it can play Fallout New Vegas at 1080p without much stuttering. Is the game for PC exclusive or is it on Xbox 360 and PS3 as well? I ask because I wanna know what to expect form the graphics engine. If it's PC exclusive then I'll probably need to upgrade my PC. If it isn't I wont because my PC is already more powerful than PS3 and 360 combined. It'll probably be like Oblivion where it scales really well (I know with a certain mod, Oblivion can run fluidly on a GeForce4.), it's not that hard for them to do that. Plus TES games have always been technical masterpieces on PC, pushing the graphics boundaries. If they don't utilize DX11 (or DX10 for that matter) with a brand new engine I'll be bloody pissed. Because it'll truly mean Bethesda has gone down the unredeemable path of console whores who just make half assed PC ports (which they already pretty much are). Oh yeah, and new engine! The-King squeals DX10 is really just making DX9 more efficient, we'd see actual graphical improvements if they go to DX11, but I doubt they would, the marketshare of people either on XP or with a DX9 GPU is still too big to discount and if they just add in DX11 on top of that, it won't do much at all. Yeah, I'm 100% certain that the creature and item scaling are going to be fixed. It was the biggest complaint from Oblivion. Nah, more people bitched about the VA. If Beth have listened to the fans at all, we'll get better VA (Like New Vegas had in a way, where everyone has different voices), better animations and better faces. [SM]CJZera
As long as I don't hear that same guy over and over again saying how good I am at destruction, everything shall be fine... Also here's hoping there's only one or two sets of Daedric armor, unlike in Oblivion where it's ten a dime...

[SM]CJZera
Why would you need lockpicking anyway? you still have a skill that both opens doors, gives you elemental shields and... oh let's you walk on water and breathe in it... Did I mention it also lets you carry more and you can make oponents get overburdened? Nice balance... I also hope that going over the weight limit lets you walk slowly, instead of dead stop... that was pretty annoying...

tubbs51
The Game Informer issue is called the Feburary one but it comes out in January just to clear up any possible confusion... i'll be expecting my issue to come via the mail some time after Jan 10th... and the reason GameStop already has it available for pre order is because they tend to get their stuff set up first... which is why they'll get the Exclusive article in their Game Informer Magazine
