Is this The Guy?
I play on a PS4 so sadly those mods are not available to me Especially the campfire mod, that looks extra cool and I cant use it waaaaaa. But looks like its available on the Xbone. There is a survival tools mod but from reading the description it isnt the same thing. But I have been having some fun playing this survival mode. I made the wonderful mistake of using a carriage to take me to dawnstar to shop through the hidden chest for some goodies but I forgot there wasnt a carriage to take you back, so I had to walk back to Whiterun through the snow. It was cool though you come across some camping sites and can use the mammoth camp pyres to warm up. I downloaded a mod that lets you craft fur and skaal clothing and its lets you upgrade skaal clothing as well. Also downloaded this one mod, dont remember which one, but now whenever I come across a Stormcloak fort there are always battles between the imperials and stormcloaks. If you wait a while the imperials will sometimes kill one of the stormcloak leaders and you can take his officer armor which is much warmer than the fur armor. Edit: okay im starting to think that warmer clothing doesnt really make much of a difference. Seems like hot potato soup is the answer to everything. Also after wandering the terrain for a bit there is little to no place to sleep unless you walk into a town. I know it stated that if you sleep outside it wouldnt be as effective but I slept in a bed roll in Rorikstead and after 36 hours I was still drained, then of course I was extremely hungry lol. Still fun though, just need to figure some stuff out. Edited October 11, 2017 by That Guy There
Typhus
I really wish they'd give PS4 players some way of creating mods, as I have loads of ideas which I'd love to try out, but the console audience is never given that opportunity. Most of the mods we can get are pretty dull, but to be honest, not much to going to feel sufficient when we probably have to wait five or so more years for the next game to drop. Is this The Guy?
I’m hoping for a mod that puts battleaxes and warhammers on your back the other way around. Is this The Guy?
Still my favorite. The mods and survival mode with no fast travel just added many more hours of playing time for me. No fast travel has been a lot of fun. Just realized that as long as I’ve had the game I have taken countless walks up to High Hrothgar but I’ve never walked back down until recently. Only times I had to turn survival off to fast travel was when I was taking followers to Delphine. Sky Haven temple is a bitch to get to. It’s near impossible to get in through the cliff side so I have to take the main route and evade a swarm of Forswarm followed by a cave just to reach the entrance. Tokasmoka
I bought it (again), but for ps4. Played a couple of hours, man it's weird being so lost and slowly remembering what to do. Got to lvl 10 but haven't decided how I am going to use my skill points. I made a redguard that looks like Jesus lol. I usually do a Paladin type build, shield + sword and resto but this time I might go full mage. Went to some dragon spot on top of a mountain, some mage dude appeared from a tomb and obliterated me, ha that was time to log for the night. I don’t like it that way with the handle sticking straight up, looks like an antenna PREACH! Either that, or make the Axes and Warhammers longer, and stick perfectly in the middle instead of, as you pointed out, pointing out like antennas. I bought it (again), but for ps4. Was lvl15 or lvl16 (but was still lvl12 bc I didn't find a reason to lvlup then), then Krosis popped out. Used everything in my disposal, turned into a Werewolf, leveled-up, depleted my Magicka AND Stamina multiple times, and my health had dropped to critical levels AT LEAST twice. That's when I was like "ye ye i had 2 leave ya brb goodbye", nagged the Throw Voice Shout then hauled the ass off there. Maaaaan, Named Priests are dicks in this game. ten-a-penny
Just finished the transfer from my gaming PC to my laptop. Really hope that this "muh PC kant run Skyrim bcuz reezuns" business end before the Anniversary. I'm DYING to play this game, but I can't see it the same way without Tetrachromatic NLVA, SnowFall ENB or (the God of all ENBs) K-ENB Pure Light. Headsup: If your PC can handle it, play this game with K-Pure Light. Combined with the right Retextures (NobleSkyrimMod or Skyrim HD, everything RUSTIC and aMidianBorn, Y.A.L.O - Yet Another Landscape Overhaul, SkySight Skins for males, FAR - Forgotten Argonian Roots for Argonians [duh], Muscled Khajiit, CBBE + CBBE Fitness Body for females just to name a few), Skyrim would look like its straight out of the future. To state the obvious, these ain't mine. ^this tho Is this The Guy?

ten-a-penny
So far so good. But only the start. I'll admit though, NLVA (Natural Lighting & Vivid Atmosphere) sucks compared to Purity --- at least if not used with an ENB. Given how this sinkhole of a laptop can't handle it (lmao it CTD'd on me in Whiterun TWICE because of retextures alone), guess I'll have to deal with it. Might download Pure Weathers instead. ten-a-penny
Six days before last post, guess its safe to Double Post. Maaaaaan, the best way to compare my laptop to my PC is comparing a Saltwater Crocodile's bite force with that of a shrimp. My laptop is so weak its offensive. I can't even run the base game without getting ridiculous lag that pops out of nowhere. My PC, on the other hand, can run what is possibly the strongest, most spec-demanding ENB for Skyrim and STILL maintain a good framerate (usually 40-30FPS outside). I miss the game on my PC ;_;
GTA3Claude
Some screenshots I did in the past few years (2015) The best character I've ever made, I think. She was a vampire Breton called Morrigan. People keeps telling me that this one bears a striking resemblance to Jennifer Lawrence (I didn't know what she looked like until yesterday) Man, I miss that game, I'd love to reinstall it on a new rig. Wish I had a better laptop or PC to Skyrim on it so I can mod the crap out of it. Anyways, I doubt people care but the next wave of Creation Club content is going to take a while. Sounds like they actually give a f*ck and listened to some of the criticism and maybe (just maybe) they deliver something that's actually worth buying. I can wait though, I have other games to play. Is this The Guy?
I downloaded the alternate start mod and, I dont know if it was the choice I made or if theyre all like that but, they started my character in the middle of Solstheim with nothing but a belted tunic, fuzzy slippers, no gold, and no weapon. Solstheim isnt exactly where you want to be at level 0 lol I made my way to this camp with a nice chest with gold but it was inhabited by reavers and the reaver lord kept wiping me out. So I tried to sneak and finally was able to run away with contents from the chest but a magician somewhere took me out with one zap. Next try I just ended up running straight down to Raven rock to see if I could hitch a boat to Skyrim but I had no gold. It was a fun amazing experience but I think Im going to start all over its a little too much for me lol Edited November 4, 2017 by That Guy There Mister Pink and ten-a-penny

There are so many different skill trees and potential combinations for unique builds, if all you can do is hack and slash then that's your loss. That's pretty much the jist of Skyrim. You do a lot of dungeon exploring with magic and swords/axes. Granted that's what you do a lot in Bethesda games but it seems it hit it's peak with Skyrim. Like Fallout 4, in Skyrim is really designed for a single character playthrough where you can potentially get everything on one run unless you deliberately don't pick certain perks and leaves very little reason for a new character. Because that's partially the allure of RPG's, that you build your character with a specific skill set rather than an ace at everything. Not that this is always bad mind you. As I said Skyrim is fun. I've sunked hours into it and am still discovering new things. The environment is beautiful and joining the Stormcloaks or Imperials is a thought provoking choice. But at the end of the day I feel New Vegas is a way better RPG than Skyrim currently is. More dialogue variety, lots of choices that matter, content that doesn't rely on radiant quests for longetvity, stuff of that nature makes NV better to me. It is definitely the RPG I have put most hours in. Never said it wasn't, I said it feels like a hack n' slash with RPG elements, even if it is technically an RPG. Hours played don't really indicate a game's genre. Edited November 6, 2017 by D9fred95
GTA3Claude
Skyrim gets rather repetitive after a few hours, this and the fact that there are only five types of dungeons. I know this is because of the game's open-world nature. Edited November 6, 2017 by GTA3Claude
ten-a-penny
I downloaded the alternate start mod Get Skyrim Unbound. Gives you FAR more options. Will you be the Dragonborn? Are you just a normal character/don't want to be the Dragonborn? When and where do you want dragons to spawn? Wait, you don't like dragons? Disable them in the menu, and if you change your mind you can just turn them on again. But wait! Was your character born under a certain Birth-Sign? Toooooo many options. feels like a hack n' slash with RPG elements, Didn't knew that you can "hack 'n' slash" by assassinating people with your sneaky boi bow from afar. ten-a-penny
"It feels hack 'n' slash" how? I've possibly tried every possible offensive combination possible, used destructive magic, used swords, used maces, used axes, used 2-handed weapons, used bows and crossbows, used almost everything - even weapons added by other mods (i.e spears from Heavy Armory). Never once did I feel that it was "hack 'n' slash". chronic lumbago

Never once did I feel that it was "hack 'n' slash". A lot of Skyrim for me has been, to quote F4, "Kill, loot, return" and in that process you mostly just wail on enemies who at higher levels just act as giant health bars with little variety with weapons that kinda act the same for stuff. I've also tried using magical stuff, conjuration mostly. I have tried bows, but bows aren't really for me so I don't really use that play style. I'm more of a Leeroy Jenkins type of player, smashing enemies with axes and some fire works best out of the stuff I tried. One thing I've noticed though is that Oblivion also has a lot of sword fighting and looting yet feels more like an RPG than Skyrim does IMO. I think what we're missing here is that I'm not saying Skyrim is "factually hack n' slash" and that it's a bad game. What I'm saying is that what I've experienced out of Skyrim, I get hack n' slash vibes more than anything. I have fun with Skyrim but I don't like things like the level scaling, stuff like that. If nobody else feel that way that's ok, that's just how it is for me when I play.
chronic lumbago
I could make a lenghty post on how Skyrim isn't a hack and slash but I think one of us doesn't know what a hack n slash is. Are you playing on very easy exclusively with melee weapons? I suppose that could be called hack n slash if you don't block or use any different ability. You also said that in Skyrim you end up as a jack of all trades and I have to whoreheartedly disagree. The reason why I keep coming back to skyrim is to make different types of characters, uniqe builds, each with different questlines and goals. With ps4 mods, I barely did any quests on the platform. Just doing my own thing with even more unique builds. But to each their own I guess. Edited November 6, 2017 by fashion ten-a-penny
D9fred95
I could make a lenghty post on how Skyrim isn't a hack and slash but I think one of us doesn't know what a hack n slash is. It seems the term is fairly broad as it seems many sites are pretty loose as to what it means (at least the ones I found). I could be completely wrong so correct me if that's the case. Wikipedia says "specifically implying a focus on real-time combat with hand-to-hand weapons as opposed to guns or fists." Granted it also says "denoting campaigns of violence with no other plot elements or significant goal" which is not the case with Skyrim since there is an interesting plot. Collin's says "video game that involves combat with weapons such as swords and knives" although that can mean literally any fantasy game with swords which is weird. For me, hack n' slash means cutting through enemies with swords/axes head on. I'm aware this is a thing I'm applying due to my play style and not necessarily the game's goal itself, but compared to Oblivion and F3/NV, Skyrim seems way more combat heavy to me. I actually prefer a nice combination of dialogue gameplay involving speech checks and such in Bethesda games, but it seems it's not nearly as front and center in Skyrim compared to Bethesda's earlier games. It mostly just happens to be that Skyrim for me has been pretty chaotic. Are you playing on very easy exclusively with melee weapons? I suppose that could be called hack n slash if you don't block or use any different ability. Never, I've experimented with other playstyles but axes, fire and sometimes conjuration are my go to ones and playing on easy is just silly. Well, technically you can become a jack of all trades. You can choose not to become one and that's the play style I'd encourage since it brings about replayability which is always a plus. But Skyrim doesn't really do anything to stop the player from just continuing on forever and the lack of a level cap means it's possible to become perfect. Is this The Guy?
Im going to try out that unbound mod next play through. It sounds cool with the customization. In Alternate start eventually you have to take a spin by Helgen. But it is kind of cool being on the outside watching the dragon fly away instead of being nearly burned by him. Been downloading some armor and some pack rat mods to create this Bosmer hunter Im playing now. The bandolier bags and pouches mod is great, you can create visible pouches and stuff that also adds to carry weight. Going to try and focus on archery being my main combat, not necessarily sneak either yet not close quarters, somewhere in the middle. Some of these mods are very cool. ^^ Now dont I actually look like someone all packed up and ready to go adventuring? Theres SOME clipping but meh nothing too crazy Also downloaded a mod called hunter born which makes the hunting a little more immersive. You can clean up animals that you kill and get extra crafting items and ingredients from them. Lol its like a whole brand new game for me. Tchuck
Decided to try out the Special Edition, and tacked on some mods to boot. Boy do I love this game again. Got Unbound, which got rid of the main quest until I want it, and spawned me in Riften as a nord archer of sorts. Instantly the game felt more free since I didn't have to follow the steps assigned to me, and could just do things on my way. Grabbed a couple of quests, went out hunting (Hunterborn is awesome btw, thanks for the tip), looked out into the night sky to activate Frostfall, ran into things I'm not even sure were scripted or not, explored a cave full of spiders by accident, cleared a fort out of bandits, and man... This game is great again. Definitely going to dive into more mods, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it again. ten-a-penny, Mister Pink, Craigsters and 1 other
Tokasmoka
I rerolled a Breton and he's now up to lvl 20. Conjurer, bound swords and Pride of Whatever(big giant bear). Every time I go out for a puff I find someone to sneak around or turn the difficult to easy and allow a bunch of people to hit me so I can raise various skills while I smoke.
