JOSEPH X
EEK! Just deleted my first character JOSVIK the hapless Nord. I got his save out of the xbox cloud (he'd been hibernating since 2011) then went to Riften to give him a makeover at the face sculptor. I'd originally tried to make him look like me, but he just looked awful. Anyway I got him back to Breezehome and tried to sort all his stuff out, and realised that what made the character good was the sense of discovery that you have when you first play the game. After playing all those other characters, that sense of discovery had gone. Also his log was full of bugged quests. The quest marker for the White Stag was still somewhere over the border in Cyrodil . Eorland Grey-Mane had disappeared, and Blood on the Ice wouldn't progress. So goodbye Josvik... RIP. Mind you he could still be on youtube long after I'm gone - immortalised in a couple of shaky mobile uploads Edited July 6, 2012 by JOSEPH X
MeanderingScum
Who in their right mind sells an Elder Scrolls game?Specially when there are 1+ DLCs coming. When they own the PS3, which was extremely glitchy at launch? Or perhaps the game didn't fit into their tastes? Exactly and glad I got a new copy. It runs way better, froze twice dunno why. My old char works but Ive started a new jack of all trades character. Takin it slow enjoying sh*t, I even pulled my tv closer to my couch. Anyone know when dawnguard for ps3 is coming out? Lock n' Stock
I guess I belong here since I've been really addicted to Skyrim recently. So much that I haven't been posting here as frequently. I loved Oblivion and I love Skyrim just a much, if not more so. The funny thing is I got it for Christmas but didn't really play it until recently. I wish I had done earlier as I'm really hooked on it. As for my character, I picked a badass Argonian like I usually do in the series. I've already completed the main quest and got him up to Level 28. The funny thing is that there's still loads of gameplay hours to be had thanks to the large number of side-quests. The incredibly detailed and expansive map is also a joy to explore. Oh and, sorry to hear about your lost character Joseph.
chris
I've played this game now more then i played Fallout 3 + NV combined, i'm yet to get dawnguard cause i can't get my account online and quite frankly i'm a bit bored. If i had a PC capable of running the game then i'd mod the sh*t out of it but it's getting a bit bland in truth. I made a character and decided from the start not to use fast travel but after running from town to town for hours on end you don't half realise how empty the universe is, surely with the civil war there should be regular stormclock and imperial soldiers marching around their territory with the odd random battles between the armys. Even just more NPC characters going about their day to day stuff. Things like this make a game totally immersive for me, i've met a group of guys walking around getting drunk offering me a mead, a nobleman on a horse with an imperial soldier on guard, a thief who realising i was also a thief wished me good luck, an old orc looking to die in battle to please malocath etc, i really think the game would benefit from more of this, another suggestion is like named NPC's from whiterun travveling to another hold to visit friend or random Bandit attacks when your in cities where you can stop them looting, join in with them or use the distraction to sneak away and nick something valuable etc
JOSEPH X
Chris, you get one from your wishlist in Dawnguard - it's a pretty big part of the game too (say no more!) I haven't seen the old Orc in months, but I did see the revellers yesterday in The Rift. The meeting coincided with an attack by a frostbite spider, but it attacked while I was locked in conversation with one of them. So I'm listening to the guy, "What? You've never tasted sweet Honningbrew mead?" While his two buddies were punching the living daylights out of a giant spider My dude tried to pickpocket the charmed necklace off him, but they all turned hostile, which meant he had to kill them which was totally in character for a merciless Orc called Maximus bro-Fist... ...who made his way to Skyrim when he heard there were dragons to slay... He's fookin' massive! He makes Ahtar the Jailer look like a little guy when they stand side by side, but since Ahtar won't come out of his lover's house so I can do his quest, I'll give Benor a go as a follower. Not had a convo with Benor on my other characters before and I was surprised when the stupid git picked a fight with Max. I'd got the enchant from Gloves of the Pugilist and picked the perk already, so Benor went down in no time. There's still a bit of stuff I've yet to do in Skyrim and Maximus bro-Fist is the perfect guy for: Unarmed combat, Dragonbone gear, mastering two-handed, and using the shouts. I've barely used anything other than Fus Ro Dah on my other characters. For the unarmed build, I'm going: Ebony Mail + Flame Cloak + Fortify Unarmed, so I'll be putting six perks into destruction Build is going to be: Smithing 10 Dest 6 2-H 12 Heavy Armour 6 Block 8 Alchemy 5. Fun build so far - I've even turned the HUD off and it feels much more immersive
G The Generous
Is there any tips to easily perform finish move on dragon? I usually kill them with two-handed weapon, some people said it only work with one-handed weapon so I start to use it to kill dragon now. but it's been almost 80 hours in my playthrough and I still can't get a single one
paul
I get dragon kill moves quite often. It doesn't matter what kind of meele weapon you wield (using a shield has a few clipping issues when performing dragon killcams, nothing too srs tho). When you know the next hit will kill him, stand still and perform a single sweep on his head, avoid power attacks or combo strikes for most success on getting a kill move. I do it like this, honestly don't know if it works best to get killmoves but it works for me.
MrcTOtheJ
I get dragon finishers mostly on my low and mid level charictars (1-30-ish) where as my level 81 would just plow though them in about four hits...get's old running into dragons with him. Anyhow I'm just waiting for Dawnguard on the PS3 now, made a Imperial Paladin to hold me over and to take advantage of the new spells at added. @JOSEPH You have balls sir, there's no way I'd turn off the HUD, hats off to you. JOSEPH X
When you switch off the HUD, the heavy breathing when you run out of stamina and the red flashing screen when you're low on health become more apparent - you come to know when it's time for a potion or three. @badboy_zay Make sure you're attacking the head and you've got some stamina for a power attack
MrcTOtheJ
I still wouldn't be able to do it, especially without the compass/quest marker, now if it was like Morrowind where you could get instructions to get where you could do I'd do a playthough without the compass and quest markers. Also I tried it in Fallout once without the HUD, and it was scary...really scary lol.
JOSEPH X
Guess what happens when you delete all your saves, then die unexpectedly... ...the camera just stays on your dead body for ever. It even starts circling like it does when you're idling. I deleted all saves then went for a pee while I was mining some corundum near Mount Anthor. I was going to make the save when I got back, but when I did I was being attacked by a dragon and forgot. The dragon killed me and that was that. Gotta start again
vertical limit
Just started a new game. Instead of an imperial I am a nord and I plan on joining the storm cloaks instead of the imperials. I would joined the storm cloaks in the first place if I knew what was actually happening. But the main reason of starting the new game is to choose the correct perks. I would joined the storm cloaks in the first place if I knew what was actually happening. But the main reason of starting the new game is to choose the correct perks. Good luck man. I've played it 10 times and I still pick the wrong perks sometimes. Just remember the enemies go to Level 50, but you can go to 81, so you've got lots to play with. I'm currently level 1 in Helgen with my reborn dragonborn, but here's some HUD free gameplay from before he died. Really desparate level up on the first one, and a dumb attempted arrest by the Whiterun guards on the second.

Lock n' Stock
Here are some pictures of my Argonian character in Skyrim. I'm currently level 33 and mainly have experience in Two-Handed, One-Handed, Light Amour, Sneak, Lockpicking and Speech. Here are two pictures of me with armour on. Sometimes I wear casual clothes rather than armour for some reason. Sorry if the image quality is a bit crappy. I took these from my PS3 using a EzCap Capture Card. And I have some old images of my character from Oblivion if you're curious. He's currently Level 27. He's alot better than he looks nowadays, trust me. I actually have a full set of Glass Amour and Weapons. Edited September 15, 2012 by Gst0395

Secura
I recently bought a new PC that can run Skyrim, (I've been playing my PC games on my brothers PC for awhile now) and I've been wondering if there's any good mods that you guys can suggest playing with ? NOTE: I'm a casual Skyrim player so I don't mind stuff that's a little bit lawbreaking, for example un-lore-friendly spells and locations, but anything that adds stuff like Me Gusta moons and Dr Zoidberg mudcrabs can stay out of my game. JOSEPH X
Anyone know if/when the DLC is out for pc? I've heard it's a 30 day timed exclusive, but there's no official word yet @ naidraida: Those are some beautiful screens, when I'm around that area I'll take some 360 screens for a comparison. Makes me want to spend a lot of cash on a graphics card for my PC. I'm a bit further on with my re-roll of Maximus bro-Fist than I was when he died. I finished chapter 1 with "In My Time of Need" and Ahtar the Jailer's favour quest, using Lydia as a follower (spoilers in these videos) So I've now got Ahtar the Jailer as my follower for the duration of the CW and the meaty part of the game - Greybeards Radiant quests. I'm also doing "Letters from a friend" which seem to be the same as the Greybeards radiants, except when you finish one you get another letter the next time you enter a town. Maximus is currently using Mistwatch as his player home castle. It doesn't reset and it has an alchemy lab and loads of storage. There is a bug that came down with Dawnguard, that makes it impossible for new characters to buy the alchemy lab for breezehome, so I had to reload and find somewhere else. I'm uploading some more vids atm with some nice finishers on dragons - here's some stills

I have no monster pc, my last upgrade was more than a year ago. The dragon screens look really cool. C2Q Q8200 stock clock PNY GTX460 1GB o'c (230 euro but that was in Jan '11 I guess) 4GB RAM How can you make this finish moves/kill cam moves? JOSEPH X
Makes me want to spend a lot of cash on a graphics card for my PC. How can you make this finish moves/kill cam moves? With a button combo or does it appear automatically when you fight someone? It's a power attack. You have two types of attack - a quick one, where you tap the trigger (dunno if you tap the key on PC) - and a heavy one where you hold the trigger down. Just make sure you have enough stamina. There's also a dice roll so even then you don't get a finisher every time. There's a nice one with a battleaxe at the end of this: ...and on this one I did a power attack but no finisher. I also get stuck on a wall...pretty hairy! and this is the one with the Volendrung finisher. It's right after the defence of Whiterun so it's very smokey, and my capture deice can't handle things like that. Make sure you hit 720p or it will look like you're watching through a hessian sack. MrcTOtheJ
Exclusive to the 360 for 30 days, then it can come to the PS3 and the PC. The 26th is the 30 days mark, though odds are we'll get a release arround then and won't get it untill August, judgeing by FO:3's and FO:NV's first couple of DLCs IIRC, it was arround two months later they came to the PS3/PC. I'm using some big hammer right know. The thing is, I didn't killed anybody or anything yet, Ralof did the job so far. I only walked to Riverwood so far, couldn't go much further because I'm still enjoying the landscape. But there was a crab at the river! I didn't expected it to attack me, I was just making some photos. The crab was really pissed off and it was big. Had to use the hammer. Poor crab. Like I'm saying: Once you get aggressive, someone else is taking it to the next level. Hahaha I was thinking about climbing up this huge mountain right besides Riverwood before doing a quest but I'm scared what is ontop. It's the biggest mountain so there must be something special. Don't wanna meet the crab's big brother already. I focused more on modding so far than on learning the controls perfectly (with gamepad lol). I sh*t my pants when I meet a dragon or some moody troll. I was almost killed by a... crab. Edited July 23, 2012 by NaidRaida
