Forty
So motherf*ckin' badass, Forty! I was just thinking earlier, should I join the Imperial Legion or the Stormcloaks? Kinda toughie seeing as I was about to get my head chopped for being called out a Stormcloak in the beginning of the game, but at the same time I don't at all like the Imperials. What are the benefits of each? Edit: Where can I find the Stormcloak Officer Armor? I put in my post above two places where you can find it. The Whiterun one is only available on the Imperial line when you defend it from attack. Galmar Stone-Fist is unkillable I believe. He's lying dead in the Palace Of Kings on my game. He and Ulfric were killed during the same fight. You are probably right about him up to that point in the game. Then I think you can.
Waste
Yea, just checked. Have to do the Imperial quest line to get his though as he's only killable during the raid on Windhelm.
gtamann123
I have to make a decision. I have an Ebony war axe that does about 46 damage and a skyforge sword that does about 48. And I have a dwarven war axe that does 29 damage and does 20 points of fire damage and burns the enemy. I was thinking about disenchanting the dwarven axe and applying it to the Ebony axe and making that my primary weapon. Would enchanting the Ebony axe with the fire enchantment make it better than the Sword?
Bernard Jazz
Yes, although I would enchant the sword instead since swords attack faster than axes (which attack faster than maces).
Forty
If you prefer the axe then yeha, that will make it better. I tend to use only swords with one-hand (when not using a dagger), so I got the one-handed perk that adds 10% crit chance to sword attacks. If you like axes there is an axe perk
gtamann123
Yes, although I would enchant the sword instead since swords attack faster than axes (which attack faster than maces). Good idea. I will try to improve it as much as possible though before I enchant it. So I can get maximum benefit. It at "exquisite" right now. How many more levels of Improvement to go? Flawless, Epic, Legendary. The smithing level of the weapon is totally separate from enchantments, so you can enchant it whenever you're ready. What determines the power of that is your Enchanting skill and whatever perks you have for it. A 1 damage sword can have the same enchantment as a 100 damage sword. Creed Bratton
I'm not using any alchemy/smithing/enchanting exploits, and I have a very awesome Nightingale Bow (mod that makes it craftable) that deals 140 damage, and on top of that it's equipped with absorb health and soul capture capabilities. That, combined with perks I invested into sneaking, and armor enchanted for arrow damage made me so unstoppable, I had to up the difficulty to Master. He is a dragon priest and his mask mask not only looks awesome but makes lockpicking, alchemy, and archery all 20% better along with being one of the highest rated light armor helms in the game. I found a pic of where he's at it's called Shearpoint and there's a dragon to kill also. That's Dawnstar and Winterhold up top, and it's directly between them straight south and directly west of Windhelm. Krosis is the only dragon priest I've found so far. I have not yet started the main story quests. Haven't even gone up to High Hrothgar with this character and he's level 45. I did with my last guy though so I know what's up there. I have never seen the last half of the story quests though. Should be fun to do at high level.
Creed Bratton
I killed Krosis a long time ago. His mask is good, but I have an enchanted hood with 41% arrow damage and 33% easier lockpicking. I also have a face mask that's a part of the mod that you can put in addition to the hood, and that's enchanted with something. I forgot what. mattymcs
I hit 1000g on this on sat night. Finished the main quest and I had 2 dragon shouts to get and had to level up to 50 and I was done (I was on 49 already so spammed alchemy with any potions I could). I wonder when they will anounce DLC and what it will be? I really think they will expand the map either east or west.
mrpain
Played me some Skyrim after being away from it for a few days. Was admiring the beautiful aura sky at night time thinking, "You know what would be perfect right now? A Dragon flying in this magnificent sky." Careful what you wish for people, not too long later I got a freakin Ancient Dragon later. Had to battle that mofo three times! Where are all the easier Dragons?! This is how I'm going, for my first Scrolls game, I wanted to try sword and shield first. I'd found a glass sword to replace my nord hero sword with fire damage. I was filling grand soul gems for the enchantments, which would also be going on ebony armour I'd found. I was going to make all this amazing with smithing potions. Then, last night, I found two ebony swords in the one area! Now I'm torn, do I do the glass sword, and use it for a bit until I find my ebony boots? Or do I skip the glass and go straight for the ebony?!
Quiteso
I think Glass looks better, but I'd probably go with the higher stats. The best one-hander in the game (apparently), Chillrend, has the glass sword model though. You could try getting that eventually

Surely you could find some Ebony Boots at a store or something? What level are you one? I find that at a higher level, better goodies appear at stores. Speaking of armor, I'm thinking about doing an Orc Mage soon. Should I go with the Light Armor or Heavy Armor? I plan on taking Lydia with me and equipping her with the finest Glass Armor there is but I'm too lazy to cross that Dragon Smithing perk.
SIKKS66
Don't bother creating ebony armour. There's only one good source of ebony ore in the game and it takes ages to re-spawn; you're going to need ebony ore to create Daedric armour. If you're going the heavy armour route, the Wolf Armour you get with the Companions, I've found, does the trick for quite a while (I'm still using it now). Orcish/Dwarven armour will also suffice until you get to Daedric.

Quiteso
Where can I find this muffle or muffin potion? My friend says it increases your level. If it's what I'm thinking of, it's an Illusion spell. I think I bought mine from Farengar guy in Dragonreach. It levels up your illusion pretty quickly if you just repeatedly cast it. Cheat
Since armor has been discussed a lot here recently, I have Steel Armor with 53 Armor. As far as I know, no piece armor should provide that much armor, at least by default, and the Steel Armor itself should only provide 34 armor. It's weird, I haven't been doing any sort of smithing or such to it, I found it at some sort of a Shrine of Talos somewhere in the backwoods on my travels. nightwalker83
This is bit off topic but how long do you people usually have to wait for the game to load when travelling inbetween areas? Sometimes it takes ages for me and other times only a few seconds.
Quiteso
This is bit off topic but how long do you people usually have to wait for the game to load when travelling inbetween areas? Sometimes it takes ages for me and other times only a few seconds. Yeah same here. This is on Xbox (playing from disk). Sometimes the game will run okay, other times the load times can take 1-2 minutes, and will randomly pause to load areas, and sometimes just freeze altogether, pah. In other news, I think my character has reached about his peak of strength now. I recently hit 100 enchanting, crafted another Daedric set with crazy stats on them, increasing a load of health, magicka, regen, and a tonne of various magic resistances (magic was always my weakness). My Legendary Daedric sword will both burn and freeze targets for 60 points of damage overall now, alongside it's 147 base damage. Dayum. Now that I won't be getting much stronger than this, I'ma finish the interesting questlines, then see what the main story has to offer Then I'll impatiently be waiting for DLC , and maybe rolling a mage in the meantime. edit: maybe overdid it on the sword 'cause the charge drains like crazy, lol. Maybe I should get 'soul siphon' perk, is it any good? Edited January 24, 2012 by Quiteso
FullMetal
Level 34, (roughly) 45000 gold and still I don't own a house or a horse. Just now I have mastered Unrelenting Force (The full Fus Ro Dah). Time I get myself a decent house... putting all my valuable items (and books I collect.. lol) in barrels is starting to get confusing. My items are all over Skyrim near Farms and whatnot. Creed Bratton
Did you keep track of where your stuff is? I used to write a lot of lists for that purpose when I played Morrowind, because there was no fast travel so I couldn't just go where I want instantly and check if my stuff is there, and chests had storage limit, so making lists of exactly what was where was the only way to keep track of your things. That, or I use one and alternate illusion spells in the left hand. Depends on the approach and the matchup. I think my block is at like 16 and I am level 45 lol Since armor has been discussed a lot here recently, I have Steel Armor with 53 Armor. The armor itself has a rating, and your character has a Heavy Armor rating, which combine to give you that number. 53 isn't that powerful, to be honest. As you get deep into the game you will eventually have a chest armor that is triple digits, unless you wear robes. I think Glass looks better, but I'd probably go with the higher stats.
