I haven't played Skyrim for like a week and I'm losing my mind.

 

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the Dark Brotherhood quests? I guess I'm thinking inside the box as the only places I hang around are Whiterun, Riverwood, and Riften.

 

Not so sure about joining the Thieve's Guild either, but recently joined the Companions and they're a nice group to hang around.

So I went through Blackreach whilst doing the main quest. My god that place looks amazing. I was so busy admiring the scenery that a Charus Reaper came up behind me and killed me.

 

Also is there any point to using a third level Dragonrend as opposed to a single levelled one? When I was fighting Alduin I didn't really notice a difference and it cooled off quicker so I could try again incase I missed.

You get sh*tty gold for these gems so I don't see an other use for them than to collect them in your inventory.

Dammit I lost my Lydia. I don't remember being in any situations where she would've died, but she hasn't shown up at Breezehome or Dragonsreach or anything and it's been a few in-game days now . I was just about to give her a nice shiny set of Ebony armour too.

This should be interesting. The farm Mansun Shand is living at with his Dunmer wife is getting to bea bit of a drag now the loot is piling up. They could move into Breezehome right now, but after doing all the favours for the residents of the grey quarter at the beginning of the game Windhelm looks the best option to roleplay a badass in.

Nothing stat based beyond the Shout cost but it's a pretty comprehensive list just the same.

My first 24 hours of Skyrim have been tremendously enjoyable. I let the main plot direct me up until it told me to leave Whiterun, stayed there to hang around and get to know the place and do some of the side quests. I'll pack up and head for the greybeard dudes tomorrow. It's actually kinda funny - I've never really felt anything positive towards rpg's, but Skyrim's different.

Fenrir is dead, long live Fenrir. My level 37, max smithing, almost max enchanting, one hand, archer Wood Elf is no more.

 

I made the mistake of saving him in the "prisoner" save slot that defaults from the game beginning. As some PS3 owners here may know (and I only found out a few minutes ago, too late) that means when I created my new character just for experimentation... my old guy was automatically overwritten and my hours upon hours of progress were lost.

 

Now all I have is a big magic level 1 kitty.

 

I guess I learned my lesson the hard way. Multiple saves from now on.

Yup, definitely do that. It's saved my ass from losing hours and hours of gameplay so many damn times.

The idea of not making multiple saves is alien to me. You should definitely make a habit of it man.

 

Also, the idea of playing Bethesda games on PS3 is too. Sucks for people who have it as a preferred platform.

Is there any reason why the game would be quiting on me like every few minutes? It hasd done this the last couple of times I tried playing the game but it didn't show a message afterwards.

Started my second character last week, he's a Khajiit named K'Sharr. Came up with a quick backstory to add some depth to him, he originates from Elsweyr, as most Khajiits do. He was born into a family of thieves and as such grew to be a master thief himself, obtaining himself a high rank in the Elsweyr Thieves Guild. One night he was on a simple shill job, but things took a turn for the worse when he was caught and threatened, without thinking to abide by the Thief rules of no killing, he drew his dagger and murdered his victim and victim's wife there and then. As a result he was exiled from the Guild and has travelled to Skyrim to start a new life, literally stealing whatever he can to get by. He was caught stealing a horse from Solitude within a fortnight of his arrival in Skyrim, and as a result was sent for execution.

 

...and this is where the game begins. Since I've started I've put points into Sneak, Lockpicking, Light Armour and One-Handed. He's currently level 9 and is working his way through the ranks of the Thieves' Guild. I've ignored the main storyline on this playthrough as the whole idea of K'Sharr being the Dragonborn seemed odd to me.

 

As far as weapons go he sticks to one-handed swords and daggers. He also dabbles in Destruction and Restoration magic, a few tricks he picked up while travelling from Elsweyr to Skyrim. And when he's sneaking he uses bows.

Woah woah woah. Spamming Muffle just made my Illusion went up by 50 levels in under an hour. Why didn't I know this when I was at a lower level?! There's a plus too, it makes my feet looks super cool all the time.

Don't you receive that after the quest at orphanage?

Yes, you have to go to a house in Windhelm to start the Dark Brotherhood questline. People in Whiterun will tell you about it if you talk to them.
