Anyone know much about getting the house in Riften? I've done that Skooma quest, can I just keep doing the Jarl's bandit quests now? Or do I have to do the quests where I help the townfolk?

I think you have to do the quests for the townspeople. I did a bunch of random quests before starting the Skooma one and I was able to buy the house not long after. Some of their quests should be fairly easy for you, for example the one with the maid in the Bunkhouse. smile.gif

How many people can you marry at one time?

Only one.

No Mormons in Skyrim.

Got it wrong. That would be Polygamy. icon14.gif

Yes. At one time Mormons practiced polygamy, Rocky. sigh.gif

Exactly, one time before and aren't associated with Polygamy anymore. Still the term for multiple spouses. tounge.gif

Ok, this would generally be the point where you get the reference was a joke. Obviously "Mormon" doesn't literally mean polygamist any more than "cheap" literally means jew, it's just an off handed association.

And there actually have been offshoot sects from the main church of Latter Day Saints who were busted for practicing polgamy in Arizona as recently as 2006. The main church of course doesn't claim them but they worship in the same priesthood holdings and observe the same customs the official LDS do.

On topic: You can actually build and run with a whole crew on Skyrim. If you decide to accompany The two Blades during the main part of the Storyline, they will follow you everywhere along with your companion and a dog. Summon an Antronach or a familiar and you got a whole Skyrim super hero team.

So not there yet, but I already know I'll end up exploiting that.

Skyrim sure has a lot of "game-breaking" features. Chalk it up to the new engine I guess (or just bad choices), but I'm sure the devs at Beth are crying over gamers making GOD armor/weaponry and being able to master all the skills in less than 1 solid day of gameplay.

I find the time by neglecting sh*t that needs doing.

lol so true

So I have to make a careful choice.

As far as wives go they all offer the same thing, but the warrior chicks can follow you into battle. Aela in the Companions, and Mjoll the Lioness in Riften are both pretty epic. Everything you need to know is here

Just finally got my copy.

*rubs hands together and chuckles victoriously*

Might as well take the time now to write a letter to your friends and loved ones and inform them of your departure from life for the next 30+ days minimum.

Apparently you can marry people in the game. How do you do this? Does it give any benefit?

Check the link above ^

On the topic of having a crew, I noticed that on the Thieves Guild quest where Mercer Frey follows you to catch Karliah, he will stay with you until you complete the quest. I took him around with me for awhile slaying whatever we came across. He and Lydia both backed me up along with the daedra I summoned with Sanguine Rose. It was a total wrecking crew. We killed a dragon in record time.

Well My nord’s recovery is going well, the companions and the Dark Brotherhood are done I let Cicero live this time might get back to work on my Argonian, or I might start the one of the other character’s I’ve had planed for ever.

Ethier an Imperial woman, who was in the legion like her mom and dad before her (both died in the occupation of the imperial city so she hate’s the Thalmor), but left after five years wanting to go adventuring around Tamriel (she’s now only like 31) now in Skyrim she’s going to join again in the fight against the Stormcloaks, even though she sympathizes with them to an extent.

Or a Khajiit Monk, focusing on Sneak, light armor, and heavy armor (for the fists of steel perk) who focus on hand to hand combat and one handed (for when things get hairy) might even throw in some Restoration and Alteration in there too. He left Elsweyr to wander around and see the world, spent a few years in Cyrodiil, left when the war started and went into Hammerfell worked as a mercenary and just a kind soul helping people, after the war, when Hammerfell started to fight the Dominion he left again and went though High Rock, eventually making his way back to Hammerfell when the fighting stopped (He liked the culture allot) eventually after awhile he decided it was time for change went though High Rock again and into Skyrim…where it all began.

Proboly won't start ethier of those untill my nord is done again lol. (Damn courptingsave still nearly back to my old level again)

Right now, I'm thinking about finishing the main quest again, or doing the college.

As for Marriage, I suggest Alea the Huntress, Vilkas or Farkas. (Even if you're a dude because there's nothing gay about marrying Farkas, or Vilkas. IMO)

I've played this game too much. Level 31. Level 65. Level 12.

About 200 hours of play time. I must stop. But I cannot deny my love for TeS.

Sounds similar to my Imperial which I made the other day.

She has grey/white hair and the oldest complexion there is. She is the widow of an unfairly disgraced General, who was betrayed by The Emperor and murdered by General Tullius (who she followed into Skyrim). So she'll be Thane of Solitude, infiltrate the Legion, do the double cross then join the DB.

Departed from Morthal at 8AM in-game time.

Killed Mammoths, hunt deers, ran the f*ck away from trolls, spotted a dragon and hanged out with some friendly Giants.

Time set, 12PM. I'm beginning to love the neat little details in the game. I just came across a huge fallen tree in the middle of nowhere. A FALLEN TREE!

Giants/Trolls/Mammoths aren't too hard now that I'm wearing Ebony armour (this is on master difficulty). Are there yet more powerful monsters out there? Some of those bandit leaders can be surprisingly tough, and the higher-level dragons as well. I hope some enemies remain challenging as I progress to the next set of armour/weapons tounge.gif

Oh f*ck that, Ancient Dragons are the worst. Take a sniff at one of their breath tests and you're good as dead.

This should be interesting. The farm Mansun Shand is living at with his Dunmer wife is getting to bea bit of a drag now the loot is piling up. They could move into Breezehome right now, but after doing all the favours for the residents of the grey quarter at the beginning of the game Windhelm looks the best option to roleplay a badass in.

Did me some Dark Brotherhood quests today. The contracts that I received today was way too easy yet so satisfying!

The vampire contract was the cleanest job I ever pulled off. Chatted with his wife a bit then when I saw him walking across the bridge, I left the wife to her lumbering and sneaked past behind him. Slit his throat and watched his body fell into the river. He flowed away so graceful like.

For the bard contract, I felt really sorry for killing him. I kept telling him I was gonna do so but he just doesn't listen. He died while eating bread while sitting on a chair. A clean glass error through his throat.

What are you guys's preferences on camera angle? 1st or 3rd person? I use 3rd person most the time 'cause I can see more of the action and it helps me fight, also I get to see my dude looking cool wow.gif If I ever use magic/archery though I'll go 1st person for easier aiming.

I was just poking fun at the guys who were saying they felt bad. You don't get let into the Dark Brotherhood if you're some remorseful sissy with compassion. Everyone who's a target has a reason to die, whether the reason is valid isn't your decision to make. You are a weapon, nothing more.

I've already done the DB questline. If you start questioning whether your hits are worth it you won't get very far.

Geez, you guys are a bunch of pussys. Kill the target, take the gold and come back for more targets.

So will I ever need these soul gem fragments for anything?

A simple yes or no should suffice.

Soul gems? Yeah they are useful. Used for enchanting items (which I recommend learning as you go, it's easy), and recharging enchanted weapons smile.gif

@Robinski, same here, no idea if I'd ever actually need them.

I thought I might've, as I've never come across soul gem 'fragments' before so I was just making sure wow.gif

So yeah, no idea on that biggrin.gif

Yeah, I've got bloody loads of them. I read a while back they might have something to do with being able to craft those black soul gems out of them, don't quote me on that though.

You should be able to make a full gem if you gather a number of pieces, I don't know how or where...

Well in that case, no.

Go ahead and celebrate now.

I think I just accidentally split one empty petty soul gem into two, and they seem to be regular gems, not fragments. I had my (enchanted, if it matters) bow out while exploring a tomb and came across a petty soul gem on a shelf. I accidentally hit R1 instead of X (I'm on PS3) and so I shot it instead of picking it up. Lo and behold, it split into two and I could pick up both of them. There are no "fragments" in my inventory, so I think they both just got lumped in with the other empty petty soul gems I was carrying. Can anyone duplicate this?     more likely that there were just two soul gems there and you didnt see the other one...Fowl 08:07, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

You'll need them to fill your inventory.
