I made a topic a little who ago about Bethesda's next title(s).

I'm pretty sure Todd Howard said they were using a new engine. I'll dig it up.

Here:

We did a lot between Oblivion and Fallout 3 because now we had final hardware - with Oblivion we had six months on final hardware, so Fallout 3 technically does a lot more than Oblivion. The new stuff is an even bigger jump from that.

You almost feel like you have a new console when you see the game.

Oh. My. God.

Totally didn't expect this, containing a huge sqee right now...

I think I just went sterile...

EDIT: I just realized, Frost spells are gonna suck in this one D:

I truly hope they ditched Gamebryo... but I guess not...

EDIT2: ARGH RAGE! Video won't load D:

EDIT3: Waitwhat... dragons? I hope this means Gamebryo is not involved... I mean, the engine sure didn't perform well on big creatures... it looks so awesome tho... Anyone wants to get frozen in a mountain's ice with me until the release?

I literally squealed and started flailing around when I saw Elder Scrolls and V in the same title with a real date under it. Words can't describe how much I've been looking forward to this date, more than any other game TES:V was what I've been looking forward to hearing about.

I'm an utter TES fanatic, Morrowind was the game that truly got me into gaming and TES IV severely disappointed me in that same light. It's the first fantasy series to truly feel like it's own world purely painted in shades of gray mystique (though Oblivion took that and shat all over it with it's absolute comparison of Daedra to evil demons). Skyrim has always fascinated me as it's essentially the Mesopotamia of Tamriel, since more or less all human life spawned and spread out from there as the Nedics arrived from the North.

I expect truly ancient ruins and I hope to every deity imaginable that the dungeons feel unique and not just reordered tile-sets.

f*ck, I'm excited!

EDIT: Still giddy as all holy f*ck, f*cking sh*t, I'm sh*tting myself in excitement.

Well at least I have close to a year to finish up, I just picked up Oblivion two months ago when I was in between games and really liked it.

Though as some have said, it's pretty dated by todays standards so hopefully it'll get a fresh makeover.

Oblivion was one of my favourite games ever so I am excited for the next game, shame its a year away though, but gives me time to upgrade my PC, this is deffo a game which must be played on a PC.

Hope a few more trailers are coming out though, love this series.

Oh snap. Didn't see this coming. I can't wait, a year's not even that long anyway.

That teaser, f*cking dragons man. They've been built up as some ridiculously powerful, ancient and supposedly extinct thing in ESIV (I think). I wonder how long after IV it's set?

They're far from extinct, the Ka Po'Tun are an akaviri race of cat like people who have been attempting to become dragons for ages (since the Tsaesci wiped the dragons from Akavir ages before during one of numerous wars) and their leader is the first of them to have actually succeeded, taking the appearance of a massive orange and black scaled dragon, the biggest on Nirn (though all lore relating to Akavir is best left up to interpretation). It's also been rumored on multiple occasions that dragons still reside deep within the Dragontail mountains (as well as just above the clouds over all of Tamriel), where they retreated to after being chased from their home in Morrowind by the non-native Cliff Racers. There are also drakes which have always been a consistent threat to sailors, drakes essentially being underwater dragons.

Dragons in TES are also supposed to be impossibly intelligent, wise and mysterious, I hope they don't throw the lore out the window and make dragons mindless killing machines like they did with IV and Mehrunes Dagon. If they f*ck this up like they did with Oblivion I won't be able to forgive them.

And yes, I do know way too much about the TES universe.

Nothing to be ashamed about. TES Lore is very rich and extremely fun. Now I gotta reinstall Morrowind. I was thinking about reinstalling Oblivion but Morrowind is just better and all.
