URGENT HELP!

Recommended Posts

First move your txd.img and txd.dir to somewhere like the desktop or something.

Then run GTAIII and it will create a new txd.img from the files in the gta3.img and hopefully will fix the missing tree textures.

If that makes white bugs on the cars (or anything else modded) then copy the modded textures from your first txd.img (the desktop one) to the game.

Did you try putting the txd img back to gtaiii too?

Does a 'caps.dat' file exist in the data folder?

Does a clean version of iii still run fine?

Nope, i tried a clean version and it still got the unhandled error.

just formatted my computer, installed gta 3 and photoshop again, GTA 3 now works its the original files (NO MOD) yet.

im kinda scared to replace the files with the MOD ones lol mercie_blink.gif since i dont want to have to format my pc again if anything goes wrong. Haha, i dont understand why you guys got it working perfectly and me, i get stuck at another damn problem. Also im on vista, i cant see that being the problem. And the txd.img and txd.dir files arent in my gta 3 models folder. I have to click compatability files, To get them to show. Is this normal??

Any advice what so ever will be appreciated.

And when it makes its textures, there'll be alot of bugs u know

i now have a perfect, clean version of gta3 installed waiting for the MOD to be put into it. BUT

i dont know what to do first, maybe frank.s or someone who had to do the same procedure to get the mod can explain how they did it, please.

Do you still get the unhandled exeption, other craashes or white textures ingame?

Nope, its a clean version of GTA 3 now.

Well if you make a save game with a scm and change the scm AT ALL then the game with a modded scm can't load the old savegame that the un-edited scm made.

so has editing the "generic.ide" got anything to with loading a game instead of starting fresh ?

BTW: luq, i need the EXACT code you have in your "generic.ide"

NO.

Just find and replace it with the following in generic.ide

1415, veg_tree1,veg_tree1, 1, 99, 41416, veg_tree3,veg_tree3, 1, 299, 41417, veg_treea1,veg_treea1, 1, 299, 41418, veg_treeb1,veg_treeb1, 1, 250, 41419, veg_treea3,veg_treea3, 1, 140, 41420, veg_treenew01, trees, 1, 99, 41421, veg_treenew05, trees, 1, 99, 41422, veg_treenew10, trees, 1, 99, 41423, veg_treenew09, trees, 1, 99, 41424, veg_bush14, trees, 1, 99, 41425, veg_treenew06, trees, 1, 99, 41426, veg_treenew08, veg_treenew08, 1, 200, 4
