DMajorHoward
Hi every1 Firstly, here are my computer specs. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core Processor(4 CPUs), 2.4GHz. 8192MB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT(Approx. Total Memory-4079), but its a 1Gig graphics card. Now, my problem is, in gta my max resource usage is 999MB. Everything is at its highest. The graphics are okay and everything but performance is the problem. It is playable but its not as fast as I would like it to be. Now I have noticed that reducing the video mode to 800 by 600 makes gta 4 play at the speed i want bt the picture is kinda blurry like, WHAT CAN I DO PLEASE... I just want to play the game with good spped(Performance) and with good graphics. I think i can say that my specs are way above the recommended specs so i dnt c why i am having problems with performance or graphics for that matter. I'd appreciate the help guys. Thank you guys D Major Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464886-gta-4-help-please/ Share on other sites
yoječ
Your PC has very weak graphics card and that's the problem. It's bottlenecking your PC. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/464886-gta-4-help-please/#findComment-1060240680 Share on other sites
DMajorHoward
Bt hw do you explain the increase in performance when I decrease video mode to 800 by 600? I want to use that to my advantage. It increases performance but becomes blurry. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THAT? yoječ
It's very simple. The lower the resolution is, graphics card hass less image to process. Thus, the game runs faster. Lowering resolution also results in loss of quality, because output image is smaller (then it's resized to fit the screen - that's where blur comes from) and can't contain as much details. It's just how the resolution change works. If you need to increase performance, get yourself a better graphics card. This one has not enough power (1GB of VRAM has barely anything to do with card's performance). TheTomster
9500GT was the lower end of Nvidia's cards 2-3 years ago. I'd definitely upgrade. Get something like the new GTX 570. Or wait for a 560 version if you want to save more money. I regret waiting for the 570 (Got my 470 last month), but the prices on 470s aren't that bad right now (much cheaper than a 570), and similar performance. yoječ
GTX470 and GTX570 are not that similar in terms of perfomance. In fact, GTX570 slightly beats the GTX480.
