Help: Best way to install GTA IV for mods.

guys, i've been up all night, and after trying to use patch 7 and some tutorials, i had no luck, just to install the FP mod on IV.

 

I then down patched to 1.0.4, and then i could not get past the rockstar social club screen.

 

So i then uninstalled and i'm going to install it fresh.

 

But what's the best way?

 

How do i do so without the game updating to patch 7? I have patch 4, but i'm worried the game may go online and patch itself to 7..lol

 

If anyone can help here, i'd appreciate it so much.

If you do not wish to update and have no intention of playing MP, then I suggest you get Xliveless. Copy the xlive.dll file to your GTA IV folder and kiss GFWL goodbye. You can then install any patch and any mod that you want without GFWL bugging you to update.
