kewlawesome
I installed the game fine, but when I start it, I get the login box and it says, "Social club unavailable. Play offline or try again." and the "play" button is grayed out. It has said this for about 5 weeks and I have tried many things but can not get it to work. I have tried updating, ive recycled the modem, and I have turned the firewall off. Can somebody help? If it helps I have windows 7 64bit and the retail version of the game. Girish
You need to open up the following ports: - TCP 80 - TCP 53 - TCP 443 - UDP 88 - UDP 3074 - TCP 3074 - UDP 53 That's how I got it to work.

mkey82
Are you sure you're looking at the proper tab?
kewlawesome
Yes i went to start, then control panel, system and security, windows firewall, allow a program or feature through firewall.
mkey82
You are observing the wrong tab. You should open the windows firewall properties and view the Exceptions tab. The portforward.com only tells me what ports are open and closed. how do I open closed ports? http://portforward.com/english/routers/por...1000hgindex.htm
Girish
Oh sorry, I forgot you're on Win 7. I just checked on my laptop that has Win 7 and the layout is slightly different from the picture that I have posted (which is from Vista). Do you see a 'Change Settings' button at the top? Mine seems to be greyed out (I dunno why), but check if you're able to access the settings from there.

kewlawesome
Ok well I got home and I tryed the change setings, but that is just check and uncheck programs... and both checks are checked for GTA IV. And I did find how to open ports and I opened all TCP and UDP ports and it still says Social Club Unavailable.

mkey82
If you opened up everything, then the only remaining thing you can try is to install the old RGSC, don't run it, start the game in offline mode, then minimize the game and try to login with the old RGSC application. kewlawesome
How do I do that? Do i have to reinstall?
mkey82
No, you can find RGSC as a separate program on the GTAIV game disk.
kewlawesome
I found it, but when I click it, it loads for about 2 seconds then quits.
mkey82
Crap then, you may want to install some .net version, but doing so doesn't makes sense as Windows 7 comes with .net pre-installed. Not sure if this is the same version as the one found on the game disk http://media.rockstargames.com/IV/PC/RSGSC/RGSC_1_1_3_0.rar

kewlawesome
I tried to email RGSC support like last week and they said to expect a response within 72 hours... but its been a week so I dont think they know how to.
Girish
Please don't double post, mate. Use the EDIT button if you wish to add anything to your previous post. So, you tried the link mkey82 gave you? Do you get an error or something? Have you tried running the setup in compatibility mode?

mkey82
Then you're part of this "small" group of people who just can't run this game properly no matter what.
