Germaniac_84
Man, lot of memories in the III era................ I remember when I broke my brothers Vice City, HE ALMOST KILLED ME!! Mainland Marauder
It's really good they space these out so I don't pull a stunt like playing six hours straight overnight like I did when I first picked up San Andreas. I paid for it when I went to work a few hours later. Guess what I did after I got home? It wasn't sleep. I can't do that sh*t every year. Yep, I almost became a drop out doing that sh*t, my GPA was a 1.5 I mean dumb.sh*t I spent the first three or four hours of that just messing around before I even did the first mission. I even found out what happened if you swam to the islands you weren't supposed to be on yet But yeah, people would get tired of it if it was there every year. DLC is one thing, so are handheld versions, but a full GTA release? If it's good it should still be worth playing the next year. TheDavid
I still play GTAIII, you don't see me complaining and moaning for GTAV. Just hold your horses. Rockstar wants to do GTA right. Let them do it. - David "Chill the F**k out"
CubA_iLL_BrothA
I'm glad GTA isn't like COD. I mean sure games like COD get more attention, but they also draw in a lot more ignorant annoying f*ck face 12 year old fanboys who aren't even old enough to play the damn game. That's exactly why I don't play COD. 'Like' Like' as in the button on Facebook lol I dont get it its 2011 and they havent even given us some kinda hint! It kinda feels like take2 and R* are tired of making GTA and from reading all the articles it feels like they wanna realese Max payne 3 and L.A Noire maybe even Agent before giving any information about next GTA. I know L.A. Noire suppose to be in stores in Spring 2011 Max Payne 3, idk about
Linki
I'm not bothered at all. GTA Next 2012 sounds good to me.
MrcTOtheJ
Go find a Duke Nukem fan forum and tell them four years is a long time to wait for a game. This is an extremely good point, we (GTA fans) have it easy compared to some other franchises. I mean do I see us waiting for another 3-4 years, no, I mean R* is not stupid, once the get one done, they prepare for the next game, and hell i'm willing to bank they're testing it to some extent. Now as for 2012 (which sounds likely) I can see happening, it's not to far away not to close, I mean I know it's been 2 years since GTAIV, but we've had TLAD TBoGT, and of course it came to every system in the end, and now we have the complete edition, it's not like we've had nothing GTA related. Mainland Marauder
One thing people need to keep in mind is a lot more thought is going into storylines. In comparison to IV, the III era games were basically pastiches from various gangster/crime films. III drew a lot from the Godfather, Vice from Scarface and SA from Boyz In The Hood. IV was an earnest attempt to create a story that is its own. To me it establishes a lot of credibility to a series that's often perceived to sell on controversy alone. Simply put, the series has matured beyond the days of Tommy Vercetti and playing for the goal of making a load of money and taking over everything. That's only good for a couple plays before it gets tired. Developing these kinds of games take time. I'd just as soon they take that time, because after seeing IV I'm convinced that V will either be the greatest game of all time or be very close. Mati
True that. But how would it be if GTA came out every year? First of all, it would keep us entertained till the next gen. The setting could be Los Santos then San Fierro and then Las Venturas.
Tyler
MM, I got to agree with you there. IV really did set the stage for what seems like a future that will definitely change games. That's the pressure that's keeping R* in the hidden stages right now. They don't want to release this game too early and have it flop, since that could be a pretty big fall from grace for the GTA series. Weirdly enough, I've been hearing more and more from some buds that work in the gaming community about R* and their games. I won't humour anybody as of right now, but they are keeping me on my toes until we get an official announcement for sure.
Snake Without a Tongue
Or you might forget about it for a bit, move on to something else and when it does come out, whether it's four or ten years, you end up playing it anyway. Exactly. You might curse and vamp while waiting, but if it comes out and looks sweet you'll pay the 60 bucks and like it.

Autopilot
Rockstar can take their time with V, I'll be waiting patiently. I'm just happy GTA isn't an EA title, they would rape the sh*t out of the series.
Germaniac_84
DLC is one thing, so are handheld versions, but a full GTA release? I'm more then fine with DLC's every year. It keeps the game fresh and it gives you another excuse to hop back on and play.
MiamiVice1984
If they dont announce it at E3 2011 (or before) im gonna go nuts! But like i said before it seems like they wanna get L.A Noire and Max payne 3 out before any GTA news.
Darkshade12
If GTA was released every year i would be mega bored with it (like i am with COD) R* are smart though the long periods between thier games build up the hype.

Germaniac_84
See the thing is with annualized games like COD, there's glitches and other imperfections on almost every corner. Now by no means am I saying there aren't glitches in GTA because there sure are, but all I'm saying is there's a lot more problems with games like COD because they don't have time to fix every little detail in order to meet their expected release date. R*'s games always get delayed because they're always fixing minor bugs and glitches in the game, which is a way is good I suppose.
Darkshade12
GTA has 1000000000000000000's of hours more replay value than COD. Hell, i still play GTA III alot.

Emm Ell
You know, the best way to make a game feel like it's coming quicker, just ignore it, like somebody else said, move on to something else, buy other games, it'll come around sooner than you think. Zee
Are they planning on using the same graphics engine? Will they be using any characters from the previous games? The only reason i payed any attention at all to the story in GTA4 was because i knew to look for certain things that would be referenced in the Vice City/ San Andreas versions of the game. Do they really plan on ditching euphoria and RAGE etc.? If they arent, then why is the next GTA taking so long? I don't mind GTA taking 1-2 years to develop for quality, but its been 2 years already since GTA4 came out and a year since EFLC. If they're using the same engine, why such a long wait to release even a title/release date?

Maybe not, maybe they're building on IV's, I think you seem to underestimate the work involved. Also, who are we to decide when the game should of been announced by? Stop doubting the people who've made games you enjoy enough to join a forum on the series and sequel. Just leave them to it.
