So far i've only done kendl, i'll try to update as i progress with the mod.

Sorry, man. But that looks bad, for example, look at the torso! and the head, is way too brown, and needs some details. Also, "Other" section is not for this kind of mod. Put it in Characters, ask a moderator to move the topic wink.gif

It looks flat,you seem to have used flat colour, you need either fake shadows or to bake the texture in a 3D modelling app

oops didnt notice there were a characters forum.

 

yeah it's a bit flat because its just easier to get a smooth looking body without visible seams where the different parts of the meshes connects, it's really smooth compared to the original. It's probably a bit too cartoonish (...even though GTA:SA is much more cartoonish than GTA IV). It's still WIP wink.gif I'll try to add a bit more detail.

It's a start, but pay attention to how R* use a small amount of texture space but manage to pack a lot of detail into it, using a bigger texture like you are means you need to do what they did tenfold.

(im not trying to hi-jack topic, just letting him know smile.gif ) This is something i made in 1 hour, new model and texture. Kendl, outta 256 x 256 size, jpg quality, but mainly. It's just how it looks on the texture! but actually, the model shows you what the result looks like, BTW, i made this with just gimp, the torso, and the back of the torso. Hope you like, and learn something outta this smile.gifuser posted image (Damn, i should really show this on picture post and commentary tounge.gif ) Also, ive already released this, in a whole character pack. Called RL SA Characters, you can download it on GTAInside wink.gif and just to know, 3ds max makes it bad quality :S

I don't really see how one hour of, imo, quite sloppy model and texturing work would help me? I mean it's not bad for one hour of work, but it's not like it's a perfect model or texture to learn anything from. I also don't see the point in creating low-res textures, except if you have low end hardware.

this comp is 5 years old, and you think Jizzy is LQ? 512 x 512, bright, hi-res, etc. confused.gif BTW i couldnt be bothered to do back, cos i couldnt find a perfect coating for the back texture

i think im going for 1024x1024 for all my characters (if i bother to do any more of them).

brill job secret, i wouldnt even be able to model a head lol. wish i could model so i could put my characters into one of my games i wud create
