Another Free Mode thread

1 thing I have found improved over the other GTA4 game is the setup setting for Free Mode, the setting for your radar blips used to have a "no blips" option. Now U have two, all or near. Until today I have been in ALL games. The Near feature got a whole lot better, unless U R at least 1 city block away from another player, they disappear from the radar. Perfect for those games you just wanna explore or race around without some dickhead chasing you down, time after time. U could just kill yourself and hopefully appear somewheres else far away on the map. The "near" blips game, choosing "sniper" weapons also cuts down on car to car shooting and sticky bomb attacks. Why take over a potential unruly game with episodic weapons and expect each joining playing to conform to your rules about blowing up your car.

 

for those who haven't yet figured out how to start a FREE MODE or any game, heres a quick lesson.

 

Bring up phone

choose "Multiplayer"

Then "Games"

Then "Custom Games"

It will ask how many players?

"choose 1" if you want strangers to join, select MAX if you want ONLY friends to be invited in.

scroll back up to advance normally to games

Choose FREE MODE, start game.

Game lobby appears where you customize your FREE MODE

 

P.S. I don't care if this thread was posted last week or last year not everyone is a couch potato, SSI getting, unemployed geek living in Moms basement like the whiners on here, whining about re used topics. Not everyone has the time (like u do) to read every thread before posting a new one. Get over it and move on with your pathetic life.

 

And while we are on the subject of glitches, i have found it most interesting which buildings on the map have floors in them. Floors that u can fly up under the map inside buildings and land on them. The center island has a few. The 2 steeple church, and the building to the left of it on the map (the observation deck building) and adjoining buildings. So far thats it on the center island, the other ones you can fly up into but have no floors to land on. The airport has a few, most if not all of the big buildings at the airport including the LCPD building have floors, even the tower building has one, interesting indeed.

 

And if you find yourself in a FF off free mode and someone is bothering the crap out of you, hop in any car, park it far away from any water source and pause the game and take a break. FF off they can't kill u no matter how many time they shoot or blow up your car, they will get bored and leave you alone. Works great when blips are on NEAR. As long as U R not near water, U can drown and die in water on pause. wait until your car is no longer on fire before getting out of it

Glitch update: I explored some more in a private free mode, looking for more building u could fly up into. It seems the level block from the 2 steeple chucrh in Algonquin to the left 2.5 blocks all have the same graphics shelf of cobblestone that can be flown up under and into. The main structure of the church, tough cause it sits over a juction of 2 subways tunnels. Buildings to the left, that group around lower area where health is located. Building around it including the Observation Deck building, Max Render, Gaille, and the Banner hotel and spa, and i think the other is a movie theatre. Moving even further left you have that building with the yellow lettering circuling the triangle shaped building this is a building you can fly out of the side to get out with helicopter in flying condition., the 4 buildings on the next block to the left also, then it stops at the Bahama Club. To the right of the church are the Panoramic buildings, they have a bottom and first floor so you get caught between them, just land and get out, reserving your heli for needed RPG rounds, can't fly out of there. I mostly use these spots as a resting spot from intense fighting. Freaks some people out.

You don't go to "Gustom Games", you go to "Create Game" in the Phone. "Custom Games" is for joining a specific game.
