KingOfGTA69-V
GRAND THEFT AUTO ORIGINS GTA ORIGINS: TOMMY VERCETTI GTA ORIGINS: CLAUDE SPEED GTA ORIGINS: CARL JOHNSON GTA ORIGINS: TONI CIPRIANI GTA ORIGINS: VIC VANCE GTA ORIGINS: NIKO BELLIC GTA ORIGINS: JOHNNY KLEBITZ GTA ORIGINS: LUIS LOPEZ or maybe something like GRAND THEFT AUTO UNLIMITED where every character from GTA III to The Episodes are in the storyline. I think this is a great idea. Lets go R*

mantis117
I have a feeling it's going to be a major reboot to the franchise. I've thought this all along. There's nothing to suggest that it won't be. If it releases in 2012-2013 that will be a good 4-5 years between installments and that is plenty of time to fully reboot a franchise. As for a name, they could just call it Grand theft auto or just simply abbreviate the name to GTA. I have a feeling they will change the logo as well - Like what Crystal Dynamics have done with the new tomb raider reboot.

And I don't get why everyone keeps thinking it will be called GTA V: XX or even GTA IV: XX. Rockstar has never done this, and they aren't going to change their standards either. When they switch to a newer engine, they will use a roman letter, otherwise a fictional city name. Only time will tell what comes after the Grand Theft Auto: ...... Jakee.
I can assure you all, it will be a reboot to the franchise and I agree with others. The name will be Grand Theft Auto, that is what it will be called and it will be like no other GTA.

Ice1980
Just keep it simple stupids, call it...... GTA: America Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas and possibly a bonus city, such as Carcer city will all be playable and incorporated threw the main story missions. Hell, maybe the code name Rush is a GTA city set in California. Anyway it will expand over three disks. A disk per city. It will run on Crytek Engine 3 or a next-gen Rage engine. Rumors, according to Xbox 720, M.S will showcase there next gen at E3 2012. Considering that Microsoft has at least 2 years left with there current Xbox( this year and next) they have already sent out SDK's to game developers. 2013 Will see PS4 and Xbox 720. That gives them a good two years to commit to this gen, and bring out one last GTA title with it. Then Next gen GTA! Northeern
I have a feeling that the IV'era still isn't over yet. Maybe R* are waiting for the next gen consoles to start the V'era. GTA's first and second era was released on the PS1 (and windows), GTA's third era hit the PS2, the PS2 was the home of the GTA III'era, so, I think Rockstar are making the wrong move by introducing the fifth era to this generation consoles when the next Xbox is to be revealed (rumours has it) at E3 next year. I think that the next GTA is going to put an end to the fourth era. I don't expect it to be called Grand Theft Auto V (5), but Grand Theft Auto (Location). When San Andreas was to hit the marked, a lot of people thought it was going to be called GTA 5, to prove this ''In the past few months, the latest Grand Theft Auto continuously has been rumored as Grand Theft Auto: Sin City, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Grand Theft Auto: Anything You Can Think Of.'' This is what IGN wrote the day GTA SA was announced, so don't be too surprised if it won't be called GTA V this time either. Anyway, hoping for an announcement soon. My fingers are crossed for the 10th anniversary of GTA III
TrevorSpeed914
Anyway, hoping for an announcement soon. My fingers are crossed for the 10th anniversary of GTA III Shh! Don't mention that or a band of trolls will attack! But I have my fingers crossed as well. However, I disagree about the era or whatever being the same. Rockstar never really said anything about eras, per say. I still don't believe there is a big distinction between IV and the III games; there's a possibility that they are connected, IMO. Whatever Rockstar or anyone on this site says can change my opinion. Anyway, as far as a name goes, I think GTA V suffices.

AnthMUFC-Champs
One question, since its appeared on peoples resumes as "Grand Theft Auto V" or "Grand Theft Auto 5" if there real then doesn't that kind of confrim the name ?
GTA_stu
One question, since its appeared on peoples resumes as "Grand Theft Auto V" or "Grand Theft Auto 5" if there real then doesn't that kind of confrim the name ? No, because even if R* told them it was a GTA game I doubt they would use it's official name. Most likely they wouldn't tell them what game it was for, let alone the actual official title of it. Leve-O
GTA: Las Venturas It would be awesome if they totally red-did Las Venturas, complete with desert and everything. And it needs to be set in the 70's, just like in real life when the mob controlled Vegas.
Maxsbigbro
as weird as it sounds i think the next gta will be in a new spot (like the midwest? ) So how about GTA: New Madrid. theres san andreas (why not add to the fault line titles) and itll be in the form a state like san andreas but in a diffrent spot

Psychotic Mind
I bet it will be a gritty reboot, simply named Grand Theft Auto. I think if it's not another SA, VC, London or some other country then that is totally possible. Could also be GTA:America, or GTA:Europe. If I were betting man, i'd put all my money on the reboot. Shayan Shaffey
It'll probably be named after the city. Hence, "GTA [Name]" Yeah but what will they do If they returned to a city like VC or SA. IMO they could just call GTA IV Vice City. I dont get why no most people don't understand that the GTA:IV Era ended with the TBoGT just like the GTA:III era ended with GTA:VCS, so now the GTA:V era is about to begin, and it is 80% possible that they will use roman numerals, because they always did except for GTA:2. So I give everyone that thinks it is called GTA:V a . Bye guys!

If the next game is a new era, then yes, it will be GTA V, but if not, it most likely won't.

Jewstinian
Grand Theft Auto normally at the beginning of every era is called Grand Theft Auto #, and almost all GTA Titles (Excluding anything below GTA 2) that had numbers for their titles has used roman numerals, its just facts. But possibly, R* could be looking for a change, who knows, we'll find out soon.
