sorry dude, but they are really bad.

They are far not professional and far not good.

It's nothing but a bunch of blending options and photoshop effects. That's what beginners do in Photoshop.

I wouldn't have posted those if I were you.

What about the PSP it seems good right?

Yeah, but it only seems good. It isn't very good if you go into the details.

What can I say, keep practicing. wink.gif

They are quite bad... sorry.

But don't take this the wrong way, it just takes practice. However since your license is up (how?) I don't know how you'll get more practice.

Believe me, everyone who makes works of art starts off crappy, especially when using something new to create that art. It all takes practice and patience. I wouldn't say don't post them, but posting a dozen things at once makes it hard to get criticism you can use to expand your abilities.

I'll just go with the PSP one, since you mentioned that one:

The gradient effect looks bad for the screen. Most screens are supposed to have a glare effect, which can be easily created by simply creating a layer above the screen layer of a white area that has a straight, sharp edged cut off point. For a good example of screen glare, http://www.technewsdaily.com/images/storie...x-100623-02.jpg

The text looks bad. It doesn't fit the buttons well, and I'm pretty sure that's the wrong font.

The buttons at the right (triangle, circle, x and square) are transparent, I can see the circle lines behind them.

The raised areas (buttons, primarily) have no definition. The shading is too spread out and makes them all look painted on.

Same with any crease lines, they're all just just lines with some slight shadow or outer/inner shadow.

The texture on the knob button at the bottom left looks really bad. It's scaled too large, and the highlights are completely white when they should just be a brighter shade of gray.

I'll leave it at that for now. Again, practice will only help. Don't be discouraged. If you need more help it's always best to imitate other works of art that have already achieved a similar look that you want. For the PSP that's easy, just try to copy a picture of a PSP as close as possible. For ones like

That's a pretty stupid thing to say.

Let this guy be proud about his religion. Hassling people showing off their artwork on a forum isn't going to make a difference, and you come off like a cock.

@geomy, I guess so, lol. I don't remember where I was going with that sentence... maybe it was a fragment from a modified one I left in on accident.

I wanted to say I am sorry for the other comment, I shouldn't be interested in other members religion, had a rough day and everything was bothering me, like you can see, I usually don't post things like that.

I started out the same way, just f*cking around with blending options, text layers and simple shapes and whatnot. Keep it going! The only way you get better is by getting more and more fluent in the software interface and functions. You do that by experimenting, reading tutorials, and looking at artwork you like and trying to recreate it in some way. You should check out Abduzeedo, it's a big artist blog with plenty of tutorials and resources for graphic designers.

Personally, I don't care when people consider a piece of work "bad". You keep doing what you're doing and down the line you'll find a style you enjoy. The reality is you're going to make alot of crap before you get there, but that isn't something you should take personally. Just learn the lessons of the art and apply them.

...besides that I ain't sayin nuthin.
