Finn 7 five 11
Seinfeld, was the most best and most popular comedy in it's time for quite some time, i still think it is the best show despite the fact it was about nothing. The show was so very clever i think, the way everything came together in the episode was so fantastic, and the way that almost everything in the show could be referred to in real life, most events that happen in my day to day life tempt me to make some mention of Seinfeld but i am sure my friends don't wanna hear me quote everything from Seinfeld. The real shame about the show is that Larry David quit the show, after that the show wasn't quite as good, despite receiving #1 ratings. I am also disappointed that they ended the show, but i am also a little glad that they didn't drag the show on until they ran it to the ground, i think had Larry David not left they could have continued the show and it would not have ended up like those shows that go "it was a good show until..." but i suppose even the actors from Seinfeld have lives too contrary to their characters. Any other Seinfeld fans out there? Mr. Pless: Well, he’s not functioning the way he normally does. He seemsdepressed. He’s lost his appetite. He’s even curtailed his autoerotic activities. And we think this is directly related to the altercation he had with you the other day. Kramer: So, so what do you want me to do? Mr. Pless: Well, frankly we’d like you to apologize. Kramer: Yeah, well he started it. Mr. Pless: Mr. Kramer, he is an innocent primate. Kramer: So am I. What about my feelings? Don’t my feelings count for anything? Oh, only the poor monkey’s important. Everything has to be done for the monkey! Look, I’m sorry. I– KRAMER: I stopped to look at the monkeys, when all of a sudden I am hit in the face with a banana peel. I turn and look and there is this monkey really laughing it up. Then someone tells me that he did it. Well, I pick up the banana peel and I wait for that monkey to turn around. And then I *whap* let him have it.JERRY: Kramer, you threw a banana peel at a monkey? KRAMER: Well, he started it! ( JERRY: It's a monkey, Kramer! KRAMER: Well, he pushed my buttons, I couldn't help it, Jerry. JERRY: Well, I still think it's wrong. KRAMER: Alright, alright, fine. You take the monkey's side, alright, go ahead. JERRY: I'm not taking anyone's side. ) I can't hold the water Jerry! (after mouth is numbed) Elaine to soup Nazi: No soup for you NEXT! "What street are you on?" "I'm on First and First. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe!" Can you put your finger on your favorite moment? i can't since there are so many.
uNi
I've probably seen the whole series way more than times already. I still re-watch like a random episode every day.

Creed Bratton
I f*ckin' hate this show. Every characters is a douchebag in some way. The only kinda interesting character is Kramer and even he can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Jerry is a judgmental prick and nothing seems to be good enough for him, George is an asshole and I'd gladly kick the living sh*t out of him and Elaine is a f*ckin' idiot. I mean she's really stupid. Yeah, the characters are all terrible people. That's sort of the point. Bad people and "nothing" is what makes up this show. Mulva!
makeshyft
They even made a point of highlighting the characters' awfulness by having them imprisoned at the end of the series. I mean, come on, it's part of the humour.

Pico
Jerry?? Pretty sure most people would agree Elaine was. In fact I found this critically acclaimed board that had an immensely large focus group of 18 people and they concluded Elaine was, in fact, the least funny character. This proves it, without a doubt. http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patrio...er-all-4-a.html Edited December 5, 2010 by Pico

Different strokes for different folks. I personally want to befriend them all. If anyone remembers the bizarro episode (at least I think that's what it was called), I just wanted to beat up their bizarro counterparts with their spines. Talk about annoying people. Theodoro
Can't beat Seinfeld, my favourite programe of all time. I love the Vandelay Industries episode but as you said there are far too many good ones to pick a favourite.
darthYENIK
Mulva! You mean, Dolores. Great show. I've got seasons 1-5 and season 9 on DVD. I pop them out during the summer, or when the cable is out. Curb Your Enthusiasm is pretty much the same show, but with much more touchier subjects. The subjects just out of reach on Seinfeld because it was on NBC.

I know lots of people who hate Seinfeld, and many who love it, but if you are dead set on hating the show you will not laugh at anything guaranteed. I got every episode for like $90 on dvd, and every so often i gotta one, or i see it on tv and get hooked for the whole show. I gotta say i love every quote posted. Redketman
I started to watch Seinfeld 1 year ago. I usually saw the last 3-5 minutes of the episodes at first because I waited for The Simpsons. Later I decided to watch whole episodes and I started to like the show very much. I think George is the funniest character but the others are great too like: Jerry, Kramer, Elaine, Newman, David Puddy and Devola for example. I have seen the last three seasons but I haven't seen most of the episodes from season 1-6. Still many episodes to watch.

Theodoro
It spawned the modern aspect of observational comedy in the sitcom. There was a lot of episodes that broke new ground. Like the early episode that was set entirely in one place - standing waiting for a table at a restaurant. And they always made it work. Friends, which was hugely popular, was heavily influenced by Seinfeld. Ricky Gervais' main influence in comedy was from Seinfeld and Curb.
darthYENIK
Very true. It's my belief that Seinfeld pretty much killed the sitcom, as we knew it in the 60s/70s/80s. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Finn 7 five 11
One thing that i found after watching all the seinfelds was that now whenever i watch a comedy show is that it seems like i have heard all the jokes before, or all the scenarios are very similar to seinfeld. darthYENIK
That's how sitcoms always are though, with the exception of Seinfeld of course. They all pull from the same bullsh*t that I Love Lucy and the Honeymooners originated 60 years ago. Except now they're all pulling stuff from Seinfeld as well. Blackadder.
I wouldn't say the quality really decreased towards the end. The Finale was a bit weak though, instead of providing great laughs they just decided to grab as many guest stars as they could. But yes I love Seinfeld. I'm finishing Season 9 off now. One of the funniest moments for me is when George is complaing to Jerry they 'had a deal,' Jerry half-heartedly agrees and then George yells back 'ah...HAAH!' And let's not forget Larry David voicing as Steinbrenner. Edited December 12, 2010 by Blackadder.
Finn 7 five 11
Steinbrenner is hilarious btw. One thing i really do like at the end of the last episode is how they bring up the button again, of all the conversations its the button Jerry: See now, to me, that button is in the worst possible spot. George: Really? Jerry: Oh yeah. The second button is the key button. It literally makes or breaks the shirt. Look at it, it's too high, it's in no-man's land. George: Haven't we had this conversation before? Jerry: You think? George: I think we have. Jerry: Yeah, maybe we have. I wish they didn't take out the little comedies at the start, they were all something you could relate to. Ending spoiler Anyone else every notice how Kramer is at the center of most of the bad things that happen to the group, it's always his fault, even at the end it is Kramers fault they go to prison. Pico
Kramer always has the worst ideas. He always "knows a guy" and stuff like that. But yeah, definitely have noticed that before. Remember the high power shower heads?? Hahahah...
Blackadder.
Jerry: How come I never meet all these people Kramer: They're beginning to ask why they never meet you! Also gotta love how George's bosses are complete nutjobs.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Whoa, massive call. I think it had more to do with the changing nature of the industry and a redefinition of what TV and audiences actually were, but that's not to take away from the originality of the show.
