LIVE_SlimSlugga713
is a 430W PSU good for gta 4?
IronHide-AW
Maximum sustained output wattage from the PSU based on components it is feeding while they are in 100% use is a variable you can only really determine a few ways, mostly because it is simply based on a particular configuration. Actual readings from a rig under heavy load is obviously only useful after the fact and can be used to see if a system is peaking beyond the sustainable point of the PSU, either rail amp draw or total output. More useful when building new rig is estimate calculations based on totaling up the max or peak power usage of components you intend to have in the rig based on specs to give a rough or (hopefully) worse-case peak power number. Coming down with the friggin flu so I'm a bit foggy at the moment, but the hardware guys will be able to give a more precise answer on how to best determine the numbers probably. Kenster1025
Depends, what brand and series is it, and how many PCI-E connectors does it have? Brand: Corsair Series: HX
unc13bud
i run it (EFLC) on one of my machines with phenom x3 8600 - lowpower pny 1gb 9800gt and a corsair cx400 power supply. and an intel x-25m 80gb SSD.
Jigglyass
Don't f*ck with a cheap power supplies, either cough out the extra money into a good PSU or enjoy your fireworks. Always buy a better PSU than you need, for over head and future upgrades you might consider later on.
BLKMAG
430w, could be a Thermaltake.. That PSU is junk. Get a Corsair 450w/
Kenster1025
I would go for a Corsair 450 or 500w. 400 or 430 does not really bode well for upgrades. Thermaltake is considered cheap, and so is the Antec Earthwatts series.
Stinky12
Consider of buying a power supply with more head room rather than focusing on what you have. If a 700w cost a bit more than the 600w, then go with the 700w and don't listen to those who say its overkill.
YankeesPwnMets
Like the guy above said: Don't cheap out on a PSU. Cough up some more money, and get a little more wattage then you actually need. Its futureproof in case you might want upgrade your hardware in the future. If you don't use all the wattage on a larger wattage PSU, nothing happens. If you need more energy from a lower wattage PSU, well that's a problem. Get maybe around 600 W and call it a day. (make sure the PSU you want is modular as well)
LIVE_SlimSlugga713
yea im getting a 500w i was just asking because this Cool ass case comes wit a 430 i was checkin to see if i can save 50 bucks but imma just get 500w
yoječ
Avoid PSUs supplied with cases. In very most cases they are plain sh*t.
YankeesPwnMets
Oh yes right, make sure you get a PSU that is 80 PLUS. 80 PLUS gold would be the best, but at least it should be a 80 PLUS PSU
viometrix
first off, if the case is cool ass as you say it wouldnt come with a power supply, most cases that do are structurally junk and the power supply is enticement to buy. also for any semi decent gaming rig a 650 - 800 watt is a must and the minimum. so when you install your new power supply please dont pust hard or youll warp that case and the door wont fit right. i personally have built more than 3000 computers, so i consider myself educated on these matters. included powersupplies can ruin your hardware, or more importantly burn your house down. unc13bud
i only built about ten or twenty, but imo, big wattage power supplies are only efficient when they run near their intended spec in most cases. not all included power supply + case are junk... what about antec sonata and earthwatts 500w?
