oGeesKeeMasK Posted December 2, 2010 Share Posted December 2, 2010 Experimental as this may be I'm considering purchasing a keyboard for my modded original xbox, not for linux though, it's so that I can load the SA DopeWars files and hopefully continue play beyond the first customer, where the game crashes because it uses keyboard functions, the problem is the only keyboard that seems to come close to the job does not disclose any information about being compatible with the original xbox (mad catz sharkboard), does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of keyboard might work? As if the obvious had not already been stated, it's a coded file that I'm trying to get it on with, not to mention how I could experiment with loading cleo files to the original xbox also, maybe because this does not pertain to the pc or anything that you are familiar with it's throwing you off. PC and Gaming chat could pertain but seeing as I'm not speaking generally about adding a keyboard, not to mention how I've already done that and gotten no response, it doesn't and if all else fails I'm not just sitting around waiting for an answer so I can ~about~ safely say that I have resolved this for myself and any further input will not be required. I don't actually get your problem... the only code the creator of Dopewars (is it this crazy scm mod?) can have used is 00e1 which relates all keys to the original PS2 controlls. Arcoding to yourself you're experimenting so try out whatever comes in your minds Which inputs does the normal Xbox has anyway? You'll likely have to recompile the script to not use keyboard commands. Inactive in GTA/R* title modification indefinitely pursuant to a court order obtained by TTWO. You'll likely have to recompile the script to not use keyboard commands. Right on NT, just that simple yes or no answer is all I needed! Now how do I do that? For one thing it's not my script! I know If I had the go ahead it's all a matter of changing up the american.gxt and some of the keyboard commands to the controller but there are so many, it would never work. SA Dopewars does however load up onto the original xbox console but freezes at the keyboard commands, I've contacted the author but he's not responding now. So, now since its related to scmcooding now (thanks a lot NTA ): The author dropped the mod when I'm informed correctly... and since you just want to modify the scripot so you can use I think there won't be any problems with the permission. So your job is it to decompile the mian.scm and search for the part that requires keyboard stuff. If so what kind of keyboard did you use, I am trying to avoid investing in the wrong kind if there is a wrong kind in the event that this can be done. If you have not tried this then this subject does not apply to you , this topic is not posted in the PC forum simply because there might be plenty of gamers that have connected a keyboard to their xboxes but still have not been playing the SA Dopewars script with it, whereas plenty of gamers in the Coding forums with keyboards attached might have been playing the SA Dopewars script and might have very good input on this subject I apologize to the other members that are caught up in this confusion and would like to thank those with dead on input.
