JohnPro
Hi all been a while since I've been on Gtaforums. I was hoping someone could help me out a bit with my vehicle. I noticed a problem with a vehicle i recently created and that is that some panels are brighter than others. The parts are hood, bumper, boot and misc_a A screenshot can be seen in the moddb link below. has anyone experienced this before? http://www.moddb.com/mods/grand-theft-auto...ngame4#imagebox As you can see in the picture some parts are brighter than others Its not because of ENB, in fact it looks worse with ENB off. Excel240
If you are still having troubles with this: The problem appears to be your Shadow model. It's a fairly simple fix. You just have to select and edit the Shadow model of your vehicle to either be bigger or smaller than the base model itself. If you are going to make it completely bright: shrink / scale the shadow model so that all of the edges are within the base model and are not sticking outside. If you are going to make it completely darker: Opposite.
JohnPro
Oh thank you for the reply! Your right it does fix the problem of dark parts when ENB is enabled, I think I used the wrong picture because its misleading. The real problem is when ENB is disabled. The Normal GTA graphics renders body parts like hood, trunk, bumpers, doors, brighter than the chassis model.
Excel240
I want to say it's still a shadow model problem.. Otherwise, if you applied different textures to the different areas, you may have forgotten to enable such things as Specular highlighting, or set the ENV level. but... You say this only happens with ENB disabled? Could be a problem with vehicle reflections in that case. The chassis may not have the reflection (if any is used) properly mapped. I'd check for a child texture on the main body (vehicleref128, vehiclegrunge256, ect).
JohnPro
Thanks excel240 I am using the same texture with values 15 for reflection and about 10 for specular. The same texture was applied to the entire model and parts. Problem still appears with ENB but the new graphics hides it a little, the problem still exists though no matter if i have enb enabled or disabled. Gta material settings for this texture Color : None (not primary or secondary) Reflection texture default specular texture default Specular color was 80,80,80 which gave a grey and i set the other value thins for specular to 0.
JohnPro
Fixed this bug, Simply set the main material to PRIMARY and apply it to all the parts of the vehicle that should be the same shade. If you dont want colors, then just modify carcols.dat to have 1 color which is white. White wont affect the look of the texture so it stays the same.
