Lithium
So I bought the trilogy yesterday and watched The Fellowship of the Ring (which I haven't watched since it first came out), and I realized that it is a really great movie. I did however figure that I am now a whole new level of geek for buying this, but I've always wanted to own the movies, just never got them. Which movie out of the three is your favorite? I'll have to watch them all again to make an educated decision, but I think the Two Towers might be my favorite.

3minty3
My favourite is definitely The Fellowship of the Ring, just becuase I love how the Shire looks. And i'm still waiting for the blu-ray extended edition.
Lithium
That is a classic scene. I do like Star Wars, but they aren't really comparable.
Tyler
Heheh, it was the first thing that came to mind. Honestly, I haven't ever gotten around to watching Lord of the Rings. I'm not much of a fantasy man, though. I much prefer Science Fiction to that of the Feudal Times sort that Lord of the Rings goes for. I'm sure it is one of the best fantasy movies out there though, with such a large fan-base. I know the plot already as well. Perhaps the real reason why I don't feel like using nine hours of my life to watch it. Oh, and Star Wars is very good. I even tolerate watching the prequels. WF the Hobgoblin
b0sc-gS9AqM That is a classic scene. I do like Star Wars, but they aren't really comparable. I love that scene, but I love both Star Wars and LOTR films as well. As for a favourite, it's a tough call. I really like the battle sequences in the second and third films, particularly the battle of Helm's Deep. I think i'd have to say Fellowship though, it's the most adventurous and exciting in my opinion. darthYENIK
It's hard to pick, because they're all one story, but I'll go with the one where there is a bunch of walking, then they jump to one side, and then continue walking.
Wordsworth
I think Return Of The King is my favorite, particularly the extended version that includes the Mouth Of Sauron - f*cking terrifying looking if you haven't seen it. I like the entire trilogy, but I think the reasons I love the first one are not enough to choose it #1 overall. The first 10-15 minute narrated sequence that introduces the history of the ring and shows the battle of the free world against Sauron blew my f*cking mind the first time I saw it. Granted I was completely blazed out of my mind, but it impressed me. Also the underground bits with the Goblins and Balrog. Two Towers is solid all around but you can tell it's a middle movie. It feels like it's caught between wanting to finish the story and trying to leave something for the end, unlike Empire Strikes Back. It wasn't quite the same kind of cliffhanger for me. ROTK has it all though, and despite the egregiously long ending sequence, it's probably my favorite of the series.

Punk-in-Drublic
b0sc-gS9AqM Was just about to quote that, gotta love Jeff Anderson in Clerks & Clerks 2, funny as hell. I think i've only seen fellowship and I was quite young and found it boring, maybe i'll have to watch them sometime.
