yimicrokaar
So I decided to install San Andreas on my new laptop, and everything works fine except for the saved games. No matter what, everytime I start a saved game it goes to the intro like I picked Start New Game. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Specs: Intel i5 CPU 2.54 Ghz 4 gigs ram Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Game: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas v.2 DVD No mods Save games are both mine and others
lil weasel
Are you playing the game in W98/XP mode, with Administrative Privileges? And... before people here begin investing a lot of time trying to fix a possible NO-FIX situation: How are you playing: 1. With the Original DVD in the Drive? 2. OR are you Using a 'backup' disc? 3. Are you Using a No-CD program or crack? 4. OR a Downloaded game from Direct2Drive, or SteamPower.com 5. Other source? Please specify.
yimicrokaar
I need to know how to run it in 98/XP mode, as I'm usually a Linux user and this is my first experience with Windows 7 and I haven't dealt with Windows in the slightest in the past 6 months. My primary laptop died, and I was finally able to afford something faster than a netbook. As I stated in my first post, I am running the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas v.2 DVD that is the Original DVD that I bought. No backups, no "no-cd cracks". All I need to know is what the hell do I do to make the game load Save Games. If anyone has any idea, I would be grateful to hear it.
lil weasel
The save games Must be of the Same Version number If you have Version 2 the Save game you got elsewhere must also be V2. Here are some references possibly one of these may be of assistance: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=365385&hl= http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=292881&hl= http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=292376&hl= http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=353497&hl= http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=292881&hl= Right Click on the Thumbnail and select XP mode. Girish
If I recall correctly, this happens when you try to load v2 saves that have been created using a v1 executable. Use hmvartak's savefile converter on those saves. Link: http://hmvartak.110mb.com/conv.htm It will help convert those savefiles into pure v2 and then you should be able to load them fine.
