VCS styled artwork

I just finished this:

I needed some Cuban artwork in VC style and only what I found was this:

 

But that was VCS styled one so I make this:

 

 

Is this VC styled enough?

 

I know it looks not so good but am I on good way to make it perfect? It's my first work with artworks.

 

Used tools: Gimp 2.6

 

What do you think guys? (Any graphic improvement are welcome)

Get photoshop of illustrator and use the pen tool to outline, then fill with color.

You should do some cell shading to give some depth to it.

No, sorry, but you won't make a VC artwork by only removing the details.

VC artworks are very edgy, and their heads are almost squares. I believe you have to make a new one.

I outlined it some more and re-painted it.
