Intel Core i7 930(2.8GHz/8m cache)

Windows 7 Home Premium

9GB Tri Channel DDR3 SDRAM @ 1333MHz

1024 (MB) ATI HD5670 Radeon

ok so thats the specs, plz get back to on this, reply or pm me, cause my older comp, an xps 710 which is 5 years old runs gta 4 but only on lowest settings and it lags and fps drops alot, so i need to kno if this will be good enough for gta 4 and other games thats HD/ new age games, anyways plz reply when ya can, ttyl thanks and peace

Yes, it'll be able to run GTA IV/EfLC. You seriously don't need that amount of RAM, though, and I would suggest (If you can customise it) dropping the RAM down to about 6GB at most and putting the money saved into a much better graphics card such as the GTX460, which is probably the minimum you want to be looking at for a gaming PC.

The HD5670 is a fairly poor card now (It's not terrible, but you can get much better for not much more), so I would say try to upgrade it.

well i checked at dell site, cant lower nor get better card for this comp, and its best they got, i was gonna get an alienware but i cant afford that, ive got a limit of under $2000, prob alot less then this, plus idk where to get a rly good comp for low prices, i mean i rly want best of the best for the lowest amount, hopfully under 2000, in your opinion what would be the best comp for me to get under 2000 thats like one of the best, latest everything, cause i dont make much money and all i rly need it for is modding and college and for just fun, browsing, watching movies, youtube, music ect, i mean i dont the the greating thing out there, just something that can run gta 4 and more up to date games, i mean i might be able to get a alienware, tho idk, whats your opinion dwagginz, what should i get that would run new age games like gta 4 without any to lil problems and still be one of the best for a lower price, and thanks for the feedback, 9gb rly is alot tho i dont need that much for a gaming comp, lol, and as far as gfx cards goes, i like nvidia tho there cards are over 300 usually, tho is the gfx card the only real prob, i mean will that code the hd5670 run gta very good, or good enough to not lag or have fps drops every 10 seconds, just wondering, plz let me kno sry for typing so much, thanks for the reply ttyl peace

Buying from Dell or Alienware isn't really a good idea. As far as I can remember, they tend not to use standard hardware plus they tend to charge a premium (Especially with Alienware systems; You're paying for the name).

I'm English so I don't really have much knowledge of American dealers. CyberPower PC (Located here) are quite a well known builder, and I believe their prices aren't too bad. Just having a quick look around, I saw this system, and you could upgrade it with a HD6870 (One of the better cards on the market at the moment) and a better PSU (One good thing is it recommends a PSU size for you, and lets you know if the one you have selected isn't good enough; I think the Corsair 750TX might be good) for $1179 before anything else. Heck, I added a solid state drive for the OS and a 1TB data drive (For games etc) and it only went up to $1281.

They also sell accessories like keyboards, mice, headsets etc so you could get everything at once if you need to. I'm sure other members of this forum will be able to find comparable companies for you, though.

well ive always used dell, there pretty good i guess, plus i wont have the money untill christmas so rly i cant afford anything atm, plus that comp ya posted expires today, so ye i cant get it, well maybe, since its only the free stuff that expires today, plus from what i can see its everything ive said in 1st post for alot less, thanks for the find man, tho theres alotta sh*t to choose from rly, not rly sure whats best, i mean i cant go over 2000, so w/e i can get from say 1500 maybe 1600, rly trin to keep it at 1500 or less, idk tho, anyways ill ttyl peace

also in your opinion what would be the best of everything on the cyberpower pc site thats under 2000, like what everything, what cpu, what power supply, what gfx card, everything thats best thats under 2000, plz let me kno, also idc about what case it is or neons or all that addons bs, i just want a good comp thats the best it can be for gaming today thats under 2000, so if you can tell me cause rly idk nothin bout gaming or gaming comps, i just kno a lil, but in your opinion dwagginz the best on there for under 2000, get back to me when ya can, thanks so far, ttyl peace

EDIT: bad news, i dont think ill be getting a comp from cyberpower, my damn parents are all mad saying they never heard of cyberpower and that dell would be best and all that bullsh*t, plus rly that dell is good enough for me, i dont need some superpower comp, as long as i can run gta 4 and other new age games on it with pretty good speed and stuff ill be fine, i ant rly worryed about the settings of gta 4, low is fine for me, plus hell my old comp could run it pretty good, and it has a 256 mb gfx card, 7600 gs and i think that one from the dell the hd5670 is better then 7600 gs, plus its 1gb so gta 4 should run fairly smoother tho it might be better then i think, idk tho, anyways again thanks for the help will see tho

I'm on a 9800GT (Which is the rough equivalent of the card you're talking about) and it's getting VERY close to having to be replaced. If you got a HD5670 you would be buying a card that in, say, a year would be nowhere near good enough. The amount of memory doesn't matter if you don't have the graphical power to push the game.

CyberPower are a respected builder and they've been around for years. They're far superior to Dell in that they use standard hardware (i.e. upgrading is easier), they have support if something goes wrong, what you get is better value and they're hand built by experts. You're not getting a super powered computer - You wouldn't get one for $2k, and even then CyberPower or Dell wouldn't be the company I'd go for for one.

If you absolutely have to go for a Dell then the XPS 9100 is probably the best you could get. I customised the Standard model, left it basically as it was but bumped the graphics card to a HD5870 (Much better than the card you were looking at) and it gave a price of $1329.99, yet for that price it's an inferior system to the ones I linked earlier. Computers aren't cheap and you are seriously best looking at getting the most for your money, and Dell just don't fulfil that role in the slightest.

I just went on Newegg, which is often mentioned by US computer buyers, and did a quick search. I saw these systems and thought I'd point them out:

One

Two

Three

Four

Five

I've heard Gateway (#5) are bad, but I could be wrong. I'd go for number four, personally, but one or two are good as well. Of course, there's also this little beastie, and I think it's a good price for what it is. It'll keep you going for a long while.

well rly i might get one from cyberpower, tho ya right the best for ya money, and i kno comps ant cheap, thats why im tring to get the best i can for less the 2000, prob no more then 1500, 1600 at most, im poor and cant afford it, but cyberpower, are they even like a company, i mean like dell, out in open, on tv ect cause ive never seen it on tv or anywhere but its site and in ads online, aka spam and popups, lol, and if they do what ya said, repair if messed up, have warrenteys ect, then they must be worth tryin to use, not that ima sceptic its just ya kno how parents are, rly eather way ill tryand get the best i can for a lil as possable, and as ive said, i just a comp with good enough parts and stuff to handel new age games like gta 4 and better without a major prob, very lil if any for the price range im in, tho i would like others opinons on this, so anyone who can post any ideas plz do so, i rly wanna get a great comp thats gonna last me years and can handel new and old games with easy, anyways ttyl peace

The UK branch of CyberPower advertises quite heavily in reputable gaming magazines and they're often recommended - I would assume the US branch is just the same. I don't think they advertise on TV, at least not in the UK. Can't speak for the US as, like I said above, I'm in England. You've also got to remember that with reviews of a company, people who are dissatisfied will be MUCH louder than those who are happy.

Either way, I'm sure someone in the US would be able to offer better advice for a store than I did.

Edit: Just had a brain-pain. Do Wal-Mart, Best Buy etc sell computers? One thing I did for my earliest system was get an off-the-shelf solution and put a graphics card in myself. Wasn't too expensive, but it really helps to know exactly what you're buying as off-the-shelf PCs often have inferior power supplies and cases, which can lead to damaging your components or overheating.

Your PC is ok for the least.

I mean, my game runs smooth even though I have an Nvidia 9500 GT.

My processor is an Intel Core 2 Quad and 6 GB of ram.

Settings:

1680x1050 on medium settings ( reflections are on low )

Detail distance is 27

Car density is 27

and the other one is 15

I get about 20 fps to 30 fps. So, not bad. Besides graphics are just for showing off.
