But when i start the game it says "640*480 not found". I installed it into my netbook, its a toshiba NB 250, 1 gb ram, 1.67ghz speed, intel atomN455, intel graphics media accelerator 3150, i ve windows 7 starter, netbook only supports resolution from 800*600 to 1024*600. Plz help me i really dunno wat to do. I ve tried stuffs like copyin the gta_vc.set file with slighly higher resolution into user folder but no effect. Plz help. Girish
From the pinned bug list topic: Alternatively: Download and run 3D Analyze. Use this program to force Vice City to run in windowed mode. Resolution should now be able to be changed without problems. Change it as desired - this new resolution will function when the game is next run normally (i.e. without 3D Analyze). This process may have to be repeated for every resolution change desired. Source. Does this help?
Spuds725
Maybe try running in win 98 compatibility mode also... (Spuds pretends to know what he is talking about) I'm assuming you tried using the hosted gta_vc.set files I linked you to and they didn't help. radioman
If you Right-Click on the VC .exe, then click the Compatibility Tab and you should see a box that says "Run in 640x480 screen resolution"-check that box and click OK. There are a lot of options under that tab to help with compatibilty and to get the game running. VC usually Auto Configures the settings for you display and Video card(and system for that matter), the first time you run the game after installing it-at least it did for me on my Vista Desktop, 7 Laptop, old XP Home laptop, and XP Pro laptop. Doesn't that help.? Hope this helps. But I noticed that you are on a netbook, those are generally lower power than a regular laptop, and as such are not really meant for gaming. They(netbooks) are lower Power than regualr laptops, because my mom has one, with the exact same specs you posted above, and it is basically the same speed as my old XP Home laptop with a AMD Sempron processor(798MHZ), 1GB Ram, and a VIA/SIS Video card(32MB Vram). Just a tip on laptops vs. netbooks.
