Problem: Ok I am having a issue on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Ive made it up to the mission "High stake's, low rider" where you have to compete in a street race in a low rider. My problem is this: I get into the car and drive to the mission start ring, sit through the dialog between Cesar and C.J. then when the dialog end's, Cesar skid's out of his garage and hit's something off screen then 2 second's, just as he passes by my car, he vanish's. Making the mission (and ultimately the game) unbeatable. This is the first time this has happened to me, I have tryed resetting the low rider car config's with the handling editor, ive tryed reinstalling it and ive tryed downloading the original handling.cfg and vehicle.ide, nothing fixes it. Is there any solution to this problem?. This is bugging the living hell out of me suicidal.gif

(this is my first post here so excuse me if I screwed up something. I followed all the posting requirement's to the best of my ability)

Not sure if you posted in the right place, as you're talk about modding. I think it's okay.

You shouldn't have modified the handling.cfg or vehicle.ide files. And don't dare to ask for those files here, as you're not allowed to.

You're saying that uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work?

Also, where do you have the game from? Downloaded or bought?

Have you used mods? Trainers?

Also, upload your save game at this site and maybe someone call help you.

How are you playing:

1. With the Original DVD in the Drive?

2. OR are you Using a 'backup' disc?

3. Are you Using a No-CD program or crack?

4. OR a Downloaded game from Direct2Drive, or SteamPower.com

5. Other source? Please specify.

Did the game play ok before you started mucking about with the files?

I didn't mod them in the first place, I tryed to start the mission, dude disappear's so as a guess I loaded the .cfg file and reset them and that didn't work. I redownloaded the file's off the internet as a blind guess to fix it but it did not work. yes, uninstalling and reinstalling is proving to have no effect. I bought it from a friend for 20 bucks and the only third party thing I use is the car spawner.

I am using the original disk, no crack. It HAS worked before but when I installed it again yesterday, this started happening.

If you're on Vista, you'll need to do this:

1) Uninstall SA.

2) Delete the installation folder if it still exists. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).

3) Delete the Virtual Store copy of the installation folder too. The Appdata folder might be hidden. (e.g. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).

4) Delete the gta_sa.set file from your user files folder.

5) Reboot.

6) Reinstall SA.

Play with an Original DVD in the Drive. copies don't work (for long.)
