i played GTA for the first time when i was 10 or 11, now i'm 16 and i'm still playing GTA. GTA ain't that violent, R* could do it even more violent, and ffs only morons can't see the difference between real life and game

yes it could be more violent, but this depicts true to life scenarios. sorry your parents dont care either. and previous gta games were not half as bad as this one. i dont care what you do, you obviously dont watch the news and see how many others are influenced by things like this. i also dont think it is appropriate for youngsters to be playing a game killing people, dealing and doing drugs, getting hookers, etc etc even if it is only a game, we have ratings to raise our children with age appropriate behavior.

EDIT: Meh, I give up. No use in adding to this conversation.

Anyway, specify your budget OP, then we can help.

You are 13, GTA IV is for adults only. Stay out of gta, this game is not for you and your little friends who play it, tell them to gtfo gta too. Come back when you are 18.

Jesus, we were all 13 once and doing things we shouldn't!

FFS chill out, a game is a game, and a murderer is a murderer - the two exist without each other and with each other. Peace.

and just like when we were 13 doing things we shouldnt, there were adults pointing it out.... so you stfu. just cause we made mistakes and did bad things when we were 13 doesnt make it right or acceptable. learn froim your mistakes and help our children grow up better and right, this world is more dangerous than the one we grew up in 20 years ago.

It'll take at least a £350/$600 build to run the game at half decent settings.

Guess you'll have to save your christmas money, eh? Seriously though, just give us your current specs and budget and we'll help you choose parts for your new murder simulator.

Yeah, I agree...

I have a two year old daughter. I was born in '84. I am a 'modern' Dad. Peace, and peace to all thirteen year old GTA'ers.

I think that ESRB ratings should be followed, and parents should be catious with letting their kids play with M games, but I know a lot of mature enough teens to be playing GTA. My younger cousins are in their teen years, but they play rated M games and still get A's in school without getting into fights, so I guess some younger ones are mature enough. To me, it really depends on the type of kid playing it, whether they have past violence attacks or if they are just quiet kids that don't do much to annoy others

o come on. face it ESRB ratings mean Sh*t these days. put it this way ESRB ratings or for parents that have retarded/Special ED kids or kids that are just clueless to the world. lets take a rated E game for instance ummm oh Need For Speed HP illegal racing and running from police + Rated T Smack Down Vs Raw 2011 women wrestling in revealing clothing and guys beating the hell out each other with chairs and + Greg Hastings Paint Ball 2= GTA IV. so at least the young man is spending his allowance on a PC instead of PCP. come everyone has experience violence in there life.

ESRB is only affective, just like all ratings on all media, for parents or guardians actually interested in, and paying attention too, what the kiddo(s) are playing, viewing or doing. No magic involved really.

I personally know a number of parents (as do we all probably) that fit this sprectrum from the most lax couldn't give less than 2 sh*ts about putting effort into paying attention to what is going on, all the way to the most religious with extremely close monitoring and control over all these types of factors. Although I'm personally agnostic, I do have to say the specific parent I'm thinking of on the religious side is akin to a "super dad" where he specifically takes the time to produce alternative entertainment and caring for his kids. In that way, the kids don't feel like they are "missing out" by simply being denied something. There is something taking its place, and it works. At-least in the case of that family.
